Ala12Rv-watermanpc Posted September 18, 2016 Author Posted September 18, 2016 (edited) Hi again guys!! I cant believe what Im experiencing recently with nvidia drivers... A few days ago, I upgraded my 2500k/Z68A-D3H-B3/16 gb ddr3 to a 6700k/Z170X-UD3/16 gb DDR4...also formatted my system and made a fresh install of win 10 64bits (previously I was on win7)... The thing is that AGAIN, after installing the latest drivers of nvidia (this time 372.70), Im getting HORRIBLE, I mean HORRIBLE performance in DCS!!!!... Using anything like 369/368, etc. gives me a boost of like DOUBLE :shocking: performance!!! although this time not as good as with my 2500k and win 7. Seriously guys, W T H is going on here?????????????????????????????????????????, its driving me CRAZYYYYYYY...almost a whole new system, with a new windows install (fresh) and even a new windows (win 10) and same thing, WTF?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?¿?...ok, the graphics card still the same (MSI GTX 970) but I cant believe Im the only guy in the world with this problem  If I go back to previous drivers performance comes back again :surprise::surprise::surprise: Other games seem to work just fine, same performance but DCS is just awful now...also, gpu usage is 100% almost all the time, even in low demending situations, and temperatures skyrocket like hell  WTF is this?¿?¿?¿? win 10 updated (anniversary), everything's up to date, all settings are identical, etc. Also disabled game DVR and all that shit. And to make things even more weird, yesterday, I decided to make a test after the anniversary update, and believe it or not, the game worked amazing (55/60fps over Vegas) with the 369.04, which win 10 decided to install during the anniversary update btw)...quit the game, open it again and test one more time and again, the game worked amazing, I though WOW, finally everything is fine now!!...this morning, I turned on the computer, click on DCS and...:mad: again horrible performance!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I havent changed A SINGLE THING since yesterday so W T F is going on????? how is that possible, 2 different systems (except GPU), 2 different OS, fresh installs, and yesterday the game runned well a couple of times and now it's fxxxxd again without doing anything!!!! Please guys, any idea whats going on???, Im seriously desperate now  Edited September 18, 2016 by watermanpc Take a look at my MODS here
dburne Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 (edited) First thing I would try. Uninstall your display drivers using DDU ( Display Driver uninstaller ). Make sure you have the latest version. Note the uninstall needs to be done in safe mode, do not try it unless you are in safe mode. Once uninstalled and rebooted to desktop in normal mode, install the 372.70 drivers, they are the latest. Choose custom install, and ONLY install the driver and PhysX. Choose clean install. None of that other stuff ( unless you have 3d and need that part). I only ever install the driver and PhysX. Once done, don't forget to go into your Nvidia control panel and set your graphics, namely set DCS to run in Maximum Performance, I believe it will be set to Adaptive by default. It is listed in there as Digital Combat Simulator Black Shark. I personally use the DCS GUI for most of the other graphics options rather than the Nvidia control panel, I leave them at application controlled in Nvidia panel. I am running the 372.70 drivers and they are performing great for me. You might try them out. Your description sure sound like a bad driver or bad driver install to me. Only other thing I could think of is any background programs running that might interfere, like an AV program... Well, at least looks like Im not the only one simer with this problem...I have seen my fps as low as 26!!!!!! when the lowest before was something like 45/50 :sad_2: ...and the gpu usage is crazy, 100%, YES, 100%, not 99% and power and temperature is also crazy...only in DCS so far, WTH?¿?¿?¿? Only other thing I could think of is any background programs running that might interfere, like an AV program... Yes mate, I dont know what to do..I dare to say I have NEVER EVER have such a weird behaviour due to a driver in my life ...Also, as I said, the possibilities of a bad driver installation are almost zero...take into account its an almost totally different system (glad to have noticed this problem BEFORE the upgrade, otherwise now I would have got absolutelly crazywith the problem and probably had though it was a new hardware/mounting problem ), different mobo, different CPU, RAM, S.O....damn!, even a totally formated drivers... Unless something I ignore changed in the new drivers, Im 99,9999999% sure its drivers fault BUT, how is possible only 2 people in the forum had noticed that fps in DCS 2.0 has dropped nothing more and nothing less than 50% with one of the most common GPUs out there :fear:?¿?¿?¿? funkyfranky Posted September 20, 2016 Posted September 20, 2016 I also have heavy problems with the latest drivers 372.54 and now 372.70 using Win 10 (anniversary update). But it's a little different. Windows won't boot up correctly - I'm just seeing the boot screen and nothing happens (waited more than 20 min). It's not completely frozen though. Had to do a repair a roll back via a recovery point :-( A warrior's mission is to foster the success of others. i9-12900K | RTX 4090 | 128 GB Ram 3200 MHz DDR-4 | Quest 3 RAT - On the Range - Rescue Helo - Recovery Tanker - Warehouse - Airboss

SkateZilla Posted September 20, 2016 Posted September 20, 2016 -Locate the DirectX11 64-Bit DLL for the NVidia Drivers v368.81, ( I believe the File should be nvd3dumx.dll or nvd3dum.dll, not sure, I run AMD). -Copy the 64 Bit Driver to Another Folder/USB Stick/Zip It (Just to keep uninstaller from deleting it) -Update back to the newest version of the drivers, -Put the 368.81 DLL in DCS World/Bin/ Folder If Needed, You can download 368.81 run the installer so it extracts files, and Expand the .DLL from the Installer's dl_ files, using Command prompt. We've been doing this with AMD's drivers for years, as One Driver will perform significantly better than others. So our System Can be Running Catalyst 16.9.1, while we are running the DirectX DLL from Catalyst 16.3.2.
