There should be a circle (Magic seeker) going after the square (radar target).

When both locks (radar+magic) are obtained on the same target, then circle and square are replaced by a triangle.

Dunno if implemented though, going through a PC overhaul for now.

at the moment when you hear the Magic lock tone that means you can fire and it will track like in the video here

Something's not working right with those Magics. Lots of explosions on the heavies but no damage?

They are likely set to invulnerable in the mission editor for testing purposes.

That would be clear an unambiguous. Its not yet implemented. What you currently see is no change to indicate that the Uncage/slave selection has been made. When the IR threshold is sufficient the Seeker circle snaps to the target inside the TD box and tone is heard.

Well, I'm not sure the circle appears as soon as you press the control, perhaps it's only when the seeker tries to lock the radar target.

Is it that important? Should be quick anyway...

PS: it's really a slave feature, not simply an uncage. There is an "uncage" mode that allows the Magic to be used as primary seeker (MAV = Magic Veille) independently from the radar, but I don't know more about it. AFAIK it's not implemented (yet?) in DCS.

In the video the second magic is slaved to the radar even though we don't hear the tone. How does the pilot know this?

Only?

Yes, only slave Magic seeker to radar target. There would be very few times when slaving the radar to the Magic seeker would be useful. If you have the target in front of you within Magic range, use the close-combat radar modes to quickly lock it.
