bones1014 Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 Is there a reason why selecting cockpit controls is done with a right click instead of a left?
Davee Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 Is there a reason why selecting cockpit controls is done with a right click instead of a left? A lot of the controls/switches need to be reviewed for continuity. Some are left and others are right. Quite a few seem opposite to DCS protocols. I suspect it is down on the list right now due to other primary issues being developed and corrections being made. 1
_Randolph93 Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 I wonder if it is something that can be altered in the lua files. Will take a look at those as it bothers me also. .
Azrayen Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 A lot of harmonization work was already made since the first beta releases (as per DCS standarts). Please be sure you use genuine input files (both in sim folder and in saved games folder) then if you still find discrepancy, don't hesitate to list them (precisely) so the devs can have a look. :)
gospadin Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 The current "standard" (followed by everything except the A-10C) is: 2-position switch: either mouse toggles 3-position switch: right mouse moves up/right, left mouse moves down/left dial/knob: right mouse turns the dial clockwise, left mouse turns counter-clockwise If you see something different, report it in the bug forums. (The comments about what is standard were linked somewhere, but I cannot find it right now) My liveries, mods, and missions for DCS:World M-2000C English Cockpit | Extra Beacons Mod | Nav Kneeboard | Community A-4E
firmek Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 (edited) The current "standard" (followed by everything except the A-10C) is: 2-position switch: either mouse toggles 3-position switch: right mouse moves up/right, left mouse moves down/left dial/knob: right mouse turns the dial clockwise, left mouse turns counter-clockwise If you see something different, report it in the bug forums. (The comments about what is standard were linked somewhere, but I cannot find it right now) Apart of the standard not being always implemented in modules, the standard itself it not consistent. It should be always r-click up, l-click down and lock in max/min position regardless of if it's 2 or 3 position buttons. The real buttons are not toggle buttons in a way that if the button in up position is pushed up it goes down. Apart of consistency why is it so important? Because it's not always clearly visible on 24'' monitor in which position the button is. In result I end up re-clicking some of the buttons to make sure that they are in the position where they should be but with the 2 way buttons it's not possible since they'll change their position. With 3-way buttons it’s guaranteed that if the button should be in the upper position r-clicking it will either put it there or not change a correct setting.
