SierraFox Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 So i've been playing around with different control setups on my X52 (mapped in DCS itself) and while i think i have all my main functions assigned, i came to the realization that I'm only using mode 1. yet i have found no way to be able to use the other modes, setting up a profile in the soft ware doesn't appear to work, nor is there a way to tell DCS the controls are in a different mode. Is it possible to get the modes working in some way? Basically i want to try and remove as many commands away from the keyboard so i was thinking of have mode 1 as being all the regular flight controls/systems and mode 2 being made for startup procedures and mode 3 to be what ever i need it to be if it's possible to set it up. Has anyone had any luck with this? Saitek X-52 | Track IR 5 w/ TrackClip | DSD "Trackzilla" Button Box Flaming Cliffs 3 | F-5e | Mirage 2000 | A-10c | Harrier AV-8B [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

But if you want to remove things from your keyboard, this wouldn't work well because in the SST you are basically mapping key presses to joystick buttons. I've used X-52 and then X-52 pro for many, many years and just recently moved to the Warthog. I made profiles for every module and never used in-game mapping. If you're interested I can send you some profiles and you can try them out and change them as you like. Not all of them use the 3 modes though. SierraFox Posted August 29, 2016 Author Posted August 29, 2016 well i made a profile in the software but it doesn't seem to work in DCS it just tries to take the in game mappings even if there's nothing assigned to it. bkthunder Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 This is how it works: In game you have: > Keyboard Assignments > Direct X joystick buttons and axis assignments In SST you can assign any keyboard combination to any joystick button. The buttons where you didn't assign anything will still be recognised by DCS as directX buttons. When you make the profile, make sure you save it and then activate it. retired_old_sarge Posted May 16, 2017 Posted May 16, 2017 If you are still offering them I would like to check out your X52 pro profiles. I just got my X52 pro and am also new to DCS and could use all the help I can get. Thank you
