cthulhu68 Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 (edited) After nearly running out of runway on my 1st few attempts , and noticing a sluggish feeling, i'm asking myself... Are the runways shorter here? Has the high altitude/thin air thing been factored in, and if so is there any hard and fast rules on max loadout ? Am I just getting slower in my old age? EDITThe A-10A and SU-25T , both loaded to the gills (96%-97%), were the only 2 ive flown here so far. Edited August 29, 2016 by cthulhu68
Buzzles Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 Has the high altitude/thin air thing been factored in, and if so is there any hard and fast rules on max loadout ? Yes. Atmospheric density is factored into DCS. So is temperature. NTTR runways as a whole are quite a fair bit higher than MSL. As for factoring it in for take off weights, that's down to reading the manuals supplied with the modules. Most of them do tell you what you need to do. Fancy trying Star Citizen? Click here!
cthulhu68 Posted August 29, 2016 Author Posted August 29, 2016 OK. Thanks. I'd also like to pointout , for those that don't think about these things beforehand like me, that if theres a storm the cloud base is now at about eye level.
Rakuzard Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 As for the cloudbase, in the ME you set the clouds altitude above MSL. Nellis already has an elevation of about 561m (1841ft) and most parts around Las Vegas are even higher. So you just have to shift your clouds up :) - Deutsche Tutorials und DCS Gameplay: youtube.com/Rakuzard | raku.yt/discord -
