iVVChewy9141VVi Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 Hey, I am wondering I have the CH Pro Pedals and I am curious how long people usually take to get use to the movement. It feels so awkward coming from a twist rudder. I mean I love it because it gives you so much more feel like real aircraft.
FeistyLemur Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 Most things requiring muscle memory only take a week or two to get used to. Using a twist rudder was something I could never take a liking to though.
cichlidfan Posted August 31, 2016 Posted August 31, 2016 I was flying with a twist stick for a few months before getting pedals and the changeover became second nature very quickly. Becoming accurate with the pedals takes further time but just adjusting the brain to steer with the feet should come fairly quickly. Braeden108 Posted August 31, 2016 Posted August 31, 2016 I had little issue transitioning. However I think this is because I run my petals inverted. I push the right side forward and the aircraft turns left, like the handlebars on a bike. Light the tires kick the fires! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Sokol1_br Posted August 31, 2016 Posted August 31, 2016 I find a good training for pedals. I use my T-Rudder Mk.III to drive vehicles in ARMA3. :) Is only a bit complicated in reverse motion. :P
Nash Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 At the risk of sounding a bit weird ; from my experience I think if you are used to driving it becomes easier for your brain to register the concept ... A friend who doesn't drive took almost a month to be completely comfortable with the idea of controlling movements with feet...:smartass: Check Six!!!__ ||AMD R7-2700X||ASUS ROG STRIX-X470F Gaming||SAPPHIRE RX 7900 XTX 24GB OC||GSKILL-TridentZRGB 16GBDDR4 3200C14||WARTHOG HOTAS||CORSAIR RM 1000X||
Sporg Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 I took a little time transitioning. I had used twist rudder for a year or more, and it was difficult at first to get used to using my feet at first. Mostly, I really had to adjust to the movement of left foot = turn left and right foot = turn right. But now it's second nature to me, so just give it time and adjust to it. (As for the guy inverting the axis, I think that's a bad idea: Imagine one day you want to fly a real aircraft. Your muscle memory and coordination will be totally opposite of what is needed. :( ) System specs: Gigabyte Aorus Master, i7 9700K@std, GTX 1080TI OC, 32 GB 3000 MHz RAM, NVMe M.2 SSD, Oculus Quest VR (2x1600x1440) Warthog HOTAS w/150mm extension, Slaw pedals, Gametrix Jetseat, TrackIR for monitor use
