Heading selector needle

Does anyone know how to use the Heading Selector needle (thin needle) on the hsi? I can spin the heading selector knob but the needle doesn't move.

Thanks in advance

The thin needle is VOR.

The bug needle is TACAN/ INS WPT = NAV (choose with right knob)

The green outer arrow is AP heading, select with roll trim when AP engaged.

It's in manual :smilewink:

The thin needle responds to VOR navigation (x).

This is a case of expecting the wrong behavior.

It doesn't turn the VOR needle. I understand it should move the autopilot heading bug in the normal navigation modes and is used to input data in the more advanced modes of operation not modeled.

The knob to the lower left I believe is also spring loaded like a door knob. You turn and hold it in one direction to enact your change and when you let go it returns to the "smiley face" orientation.

Hi

There is no heading selector knob in this aircraft.

So what you get is OK.

The knob is for a feature which is not available at the moment = no use just now.

The thin needle responds to VOR navigation (which doesn't work btw!).

Uh? It worked last time I tried it (like 3-4 days ago)... Do you mean friday's update broke it?

VOR navigation works fine, set up frequency for Vaziani area from F10 map on your ILS and it will work fine.

I'll check VOR again. I just had one try with one VOR(TAC) on NTTR.

EDIT: VOR works fine. I don't know what I was doing differently before.

Anyway the "aiguille fine" (fine needle) shows gisement VOR (VOR site) in 6 of the 7 modes. The 7th mode "téléaffichage" (remote display) TEL it shows "cap à prendre" (heading to follow).

The knob in the lower left is for "commande d'affichage du vectoeur additionnel" which is data input for the VAD IDN mode. I don't see mention of it having any other purpose in any other mode.
