The AN/ALQ-135 (TEWS) is an internally mounted active jamming system carried on the F-15C and F-15E designed to defeat electronic threats. It is comprised of Bands 1&2 (low-med freq), Band 3 (med-high freq), and (future) Band 1.5 (low-med freq). The system provides low band jamming capability for the F-15E, contributing to increased survivability against low band threats.

The AN/ALQ-128 Electronic Warfare Warning Set (EWWS) is a countermeasures receiver set carried on the F-15C/E. The F-15's electronic warfare system provides both threat warning and automatic countermeasures against selected threats. The F-15's ALQ-135(V) internal countermeasures system acts on information from the Loral AN/ALR-56C and Magnavox AN/ALQ-128 radar warning suites and provides active jamming against enemy radar threats.

The ALR-56C Radar Warning Receiver (RWR) detects a broad range of incoming radar signals, identifies and characterizes the probable source as a specific friend or threat, and alerts the aircrew through the TEWS display. It also manages companion AN/ALE-45 and AN/ALQ-135 countermeasures systems. An F-15 Tactical Electronic Warfare System (TEWS) Operational Assessment report for the ALR-56C RWR (Suite 1 Operational Flight Program - OFP) was released by AFOTEC in Mar 95. RWR deficiencies included the following areas: memory capacity, processor throughput, threat ambiguity resolution, and false alarms. Future RWR improvements requested via the F-15 OFP update process could not be met (Suite 4 and beyond) unless a new processor and memory capacity upgrade program was initiated. Specific RWR SORD requirements were not met in Suite 2&3 due to current processor/memory limitations in selected threat environments.

The AN/ALE-45 Counter Measures Dispensing System (CMD) provides the capability of automatic or manual response to radar guided and infrared homing weapons. It will dispense a combination of chaff, flare, etc. payloads based upon the Operational Flight Program's evaluation.

Everything concerning ECM in LOMAc is pretty much generic and referring to each type capabilities mounted on the F-15 is guessing whatever each one ED has came closer to, but we will never know.

Nope, they have automation of the countermeasure system which has also not been modelled.

As for -actual- jammer performance, well eh ... no one's talkin', and that's probably how it ought to be.

hmm yeah- I was thinking more about RWR modeling, but that's not really the main point of the thread, I reckon.

Not really a main point at all. It's only meant to be informative. Make whatever conclusions or tangents you want.

Nice

Good info, where did you get it from?

In LOMAC IR threats to me are the most potent of weapons, no warning, fire forget, ect.

You would think that active IR jammers would be located on $30 mill aircraft.

I did and experiment with my IR video camera; I set up my cam to record with IR, then I took one of those Laser pointers and shined it at the camera the laser over-loaded the IR "eye". Then I took a small magnifing glass and put it in front of the laser pointer.

When I looked at the footage you can conclude that the Laser masked the IR seaker head better with the magnifing glass.

Also I have seen some footage of Military aircraft being shot at by IR threats and there foward looking FLIR can see the plume, heat, and path of missile. Can they not intergrade a dynamic relay to shoot laser beams at IR threat?

So how do you break the F-15's lock on you? and when the Aim-120 Fires in a russian aircraft the RWR blinks right? when ever i come into a F-15 he ALWAYS gets me i try everything but i dont see how he always knows i'm there and when he fires i do barrol rolls break left right go low go high Jam dont jam i try everything but it always gets me what am i doing wrong?

There are training tutorials on missile evasion. Watch them.

In LOMAC, either radar missiles are severely undermodelled or IR missiles are severely over-modelled.

The notorious fas.org. Other sites give the same info, so I guess it's as accurate as we can get. I was understood the TEWS was actually the RWR for the F-15. The screen we see actually belongs to the TEWS system, but the RWR is a different system.

I'd be interested to see the integration of Russian systems along these same lines.

Oh gee thanks! i have found only one over my long period of searching, and it was on flankertraining.com and its 1.01 mind telling me where i can find one for 1.12a? beats the heck out of me.

There's three tutorials in the training section.

Once the 15 gets you to go deffensive you are at his mercy. You better hope you have a friendly nearby. If not he'll chase you until a friendly comes to help, he is low on fuel or your dead. Graywolf have you seen Ironhands website? I hope I was helpful today. Also 120's are easy to dodge, once you know how to do it. I have a little trick that I use against 15's and it works very well, it can be used against any fighter. Talk to me tomarrow on TS and we'll see what else you need help at.

Make sure you go thru the tutorials in the training section, they are very helpful.
