I haven't played DCS for more than two years, so yesterday I decided to hop back on and see what's new. Auto update kicks in and starts downloading an update, which was expected. After about an hour, the update had been downloaded and installed, but for some reason DCS.exe went missing... so I uninstalled the whole thing, downloaded DCS World 1.5 and reinstalled from scratch.

Only after installing 1.5 do I realize that FC3 is still at version 1.2 and will no longer install onto the current version of DCS World. What do I do now? I want my F-15 back. :(

I believe the issue is due to the fact that DCS moved FC3 into module form sometime around 1.4.

What this means is that you'll need to download FC3 from within DCS. There should be a button at the top of the screen that will take you to the module screen. If you logged in, FC3 should now be available as a part of the greater DCS install.

Basically, all modules now download individually as add-ons from within the DCS program, including those that used to be separate such as Black Shark, A-10, and FC3.

I clicked that button and a little window popped up displaying a list of modules that I had previously purchased and were ready for me to install. Downloading now.

Let's hope this works.

That should be the one you need. The only other step you may have to do is input the serial keys, but that's quite easy too. They're store in your ED profile when you log into the website.

Okay, that worked. It also didn't ask me for my serial numbers, which I guess are probably associated with my ED account. Thank you! :)

I've noticed that the custom missions I had created back in 2014 no longer load. There's no error message or anything, and it'll just sit at the splash screen (the one without a loading bar). Any workaround for this or will I have to recreate my custom missions?

You can try opening in mission editor and resaving. That fixes some older mission bugs.

Tried resaving the mission but that didn't seem to work either. It just sits at the "loading..." screen and never progresses to the screen with the loading bar.

With all the changes to the AI, sound, scripting system, aircraft models, weapon loadouts etc. etc. most older missions created using 1.2.x of DCS world won't work under 1.5.x. The more complex the mission, e.g. scripting etc, the higher the chance that it won't work.

I'm afraid that unless simply opening them in the 1.5.4 mission editor and saving them again fixes things, it's likely that you'll have to start from scratch.
