Hoggorm Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 Hi, I just tried to run a server on a spare laptop I have but I'm unable to connect to it... I've opened port 5010 and 5002 both UDP and TCP in my Cisco E2500 router. I'm then just running the SR-Server.exe file. On the client side I've tried to connect to my IP address at home both with and without :5002 The server is at a laptop at home, while I've tried to connect from a computer at work. Am I doing something wrong since it's not working?
Hoggorm Posted October 20, 2016 Author Posted October 20, 2016 Your work is blocking ports. They might do that, but I do not think that it is the cause. You see I am able to connect to other DCS Simple Radio Servers without any problems. It is just my own server I'm unable to connect to...
HiJack Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 Do you have activated a Windows firewall in addition to your router firewall? Or maybe a antivirus solution that blocks ports locally?
Hoggorm Posted October 20, 2016 Author Posted October 20, 2016 Do you have activated a Windows firewall in addition to your router firewall? Or maybe a antivirus solution that blocks ports locally? I have yes. I'll have to check if it might be blocking something...
Hoggorm Posted October 23, 2016 Author Posted October 23, 2016 Install Microsoft framework 4.6 It is installed. At least, when trying to install it, I get a message telling me that I already have a newer version installed... The software is also added to trusted applications in my antivirus. Still no luck unfortunately...

Ciribob Posted October 23, 2016 Posted October 23, 2016 No... Both 5010 and 5002 is closed using both those websites... That is somewhat strange... Check windows firewall, that may also be blocking it as well! Hoggorm Posted October 23, 2016 Author Posted October 23, 2016 Does the port appear open when using this tool (or others)? http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports/ http://portchecker.co/ I must thank you for the advice! I found it strange that my port forwarding was not working, but then I was thinking about the modem provided by the ISP. It has its own firewall and by opening the ports to my Cisco router the 5002 port appears open on the websites provided :D I was able to connect to my server using my external IP. The next event is to check if a friend can connect to it. But it appears to be ok now! Thank you!
