Hi,

I currently have very jerky graphics in single player and mulitplayer and I cannot fathom out why. It really is taking away the enjoyment of flying. I notice the frame rates jumps up and down all the time. It seems to be since the last update and even when I run a very simple mission.

I have tried playing with the settings in game and on the control panel of the graphics card to no avail.

I am running DCS on SSD with about 70fps the following spec-

Intel I5 4690

16gb Ram

Nvidia GTX970

Single Gsync Monitor

Anyone else expereincing this? Can anyone help?

Thanks

Hi Leadlag,

Don't know if it is related but the latest Nvidia driver update dropped my fps to 5. I checked other games and similar fps drop.

I read around and came across a free utility call DDU Display Driver Uninstaller. It is free and no I have no connection to it.

It completely strips you system of Nvida even cleaning the registry. After a reboot you pc uses the windows generic driver to give you a basic dispay. You then reinstall a Nivia driver and my fps went back to 50-100.

I suggest that if your problem continues you have a read around and consider using this utility.

My video card is a GTX 980ti by the way.

Cheers

In the graphics.lua file, try deleting (backup first) the entire line that reads "max fps = 180;"

It's towards the bottom of the graphics.lua. Make sure you delete the entire line, and not just the value.

I was having erratic framerates with gsync, and this helped a lot.

Cheers will give it a go.

Have found that DCS is only using 6gb of the 16gb and 25% CPU.

Have seen other topics on this and wondered if this was something to do with it.

Yep, tried all suggested but no difference.

Changing the settings to flat and hdr off, did help a fraction but still very notchy and stutters.

Well,

Reinstalled Windows10,DCS and drivers.

Treated myself to another ssd so now everything is running on ssd instead of just dcs, with back up to hdd.

Everything is running much more smoothly, with higher settings and fps
