fitness88 Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 I noticed the sun has been reduced in v1.5.5 to a point where it is smaller than the moon and has no glow. Does anyone know the file location of the sun and a good replacement? Thank you.
Emilio_Ger Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 You will have to turn on one of the different lens flares in order to get the glow around the sun
cro_mig_21 Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 hmmm..maybe you have mistaken the moon for the sun? The moon seems larger/more prominent than before..here are two screenshots..I dont have any lens flare option selected... the sun in front the moon at the back
firmek Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 I noticed the sun has been reduced in v1.5.5 to a point where it is smaller than the moon and has no glow...? On 14.11.2016 the Moon will be the biggest (closest) since 1948 - http://www.space.com/34515-supermoon-guide.html DCS is a SIM after all, but I didn't suppose such details are simulated  F/A-18, F-16, F-14, M-2000C, A-10C, AV-8B, AJS-37 Viggen, F-5E-3, F-86F, MiG-21bis, MiG-15bis, L-39 Albatros, C-101 Aviojet, P-51D, Spitfire LF Mk. Flare option does the most to enhance the halo around the sun...what does dirt option do, I didn't notice anything except less halo? I've also noticed there is no longer any discoloring of the canopy glass near the frame.
fitness88 Posted November 13, 2016 Author Posted November 13, 2016 (edited) The sun in the encyclopedia is the same Thanks I just took a look and yes this is what I was referring to, no halo at all. If you apply flare lens you get the Star of Bethlehem affect. I'm sure replacing the v1.5.5 sun file with the old one [pre 1.5.5] will restore the sun as I was referring to.
