Hi,

A couple of times while downloading a DCS world update the download has failed. Ive just received a warning that I'm running out of disk space. I can only put this down to the files from the failed download.

I have 2 installs of DCS.

DCS World is 29GB in size

DCS World 2 open Alpha is 65GB...... Can't be right can it?

I there a folder where these trash downloads are stored so I can manually delete them?

In the past a popup would inform me of previous files this is not happening.

Any help?

"Delete unnessecary stuff in the download folder, where everything downloaded will go"

Just confirming if I delete everything in that folder it won't have any affect on the sim?

Complete, updated 2.0.4 has a rather similar size to previous version. You do need, however, 20-25 GB of free space for the installer to download and unpack all new files before it deletes the old ones. Maybe that's why You're running out of space.

depends

If you have DCS installed there, then it will

Otherwise no, and also make sure, you don't delete anything you still need

So if I delete any file with 18th & 19th, Nov I should be safe and not delete anything I need?

Thanks

Thanks for that info

I don't know what you have for files of that date, sooo maybe

As long as you don't delete the stuff you need, for example if you have documents or other thing there, go ahead

Also, if you didn't install DCS there, go ahead, no problem

DCS Update files do not go to your downloads folder. They go to the downloads folder under the main game folder. So, unless you remove a load of other stuff (including perhaps from your regular downloads folder) you will not succeed.

I had the same problem and had to move another flight sim to an old HDD that I use for documents.

I have asked for a disk choice to be available in the update dialogue box (moved to Wishlist) so that anyone with another drive having spare space can nominate that drive for the download files. Needless to say the technocrats are telling me to upgrade my SSD size (and all that entails) or make special windows setups to redirect the download files to another disk. A disk selection is much simpler and requires virtually no coding.
