Yeah it would be a remarkable day (Im guessing 4-6 years later) when the next LOMAC successor comes out and, once again, bogs down our computers, forcing all of us to upgrade our p2's to Crays. :P

Please remember on the pace of upgrading some of these things that there are some things you can do easily when you're Microsoft, and can't do easily when you're a 30-man game studio in Moscow ;)
How many developers worked on MSFS, you reckon?

To be honest, I think Lomac's doing pretty well even without Microsoft's limitless resources taken into account - can it be improved further, yes . . . . . but I have no problems at all with the graphics in Black Shark.
I think you're confusing MSFS' resources with Windows'/Office's resources.

Shiny-rooved buildings. Nice - I haven't seen buildings with rooves that reflect the sun like that, but then they build them differently over the pond.

I think you should look at some satellite pictures ;)

Water on lakes - eerily familar from Lomac.

Not really.

Btw, if I'm not mistaken, Lockon can't actually have water above sea-level.

This can be seen at some locations with "lakes". The water is not at the same level as the land surrounding it. Somewhat comparable with OFP.

Clouds - eerily similar to Lomac.

You've got to be kidding. The clouds are the best looking feature in MSFS (since MSFS2004, where it was one of the main changes lol)

Ground textures - underneath the 3D buildings and trees, satellite photography a la F4. Down low . . . . . ?
F4 has simple tiles.

Lockon and MSFS have fancy tiles.

I’ve just spent my first hour with MSFSX, Deluxe edition. What a disappointment. I can now see how advanced a graphic engine is in Lock On.
