ST0RM Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 I'm not sure if this even applies directly to the F-5, but since it's an option, I'll begin here. Using the CBU-52 against some AAA and light SAM vehicles, the coverage of a pair of these was rather small. Like make 50 feet from what I could tell, looking back over my shoulder. Is this a Belsimtek design or ED? I'd just like to get it fixed as it's useful. Thanks, Jeff
Terzi Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 Coverage depends on the burst altitude setting of the CBU. I don't know how it is changed in DCS. Similarly there is an arm delay setting adjusted by technicians by rotating something in front of the bomb before the flight.
Torso Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 I agree ST0RM. I loaded up some CBU-52's last night and dropped them and was thinking I screwed up something..the effect was 'less than impressive' to be polite. It was something I was gonna pop back in to revisit to see if it is user error in a bit. So timely post topic. Can anyone with more knowledge verify the behavior and even effect, visual and otherwise in game? Is this to be expected for this ordnance?
MBot Posted November 30, 2016 Posted November 30, 2016 The current bomblet spread is incorrect: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=171543
ST0RM Posted November 30, 2016 Author Posted November 30, 2016 @Terzi: Unfortunetly this isnt programmable in the F-5, so the default setting doesnt work well. @MBot: Very useful thread. Missed it, but thank you for the detailed post. So it's known. I'll try the flatter approach as an interim fix. Regards, Jeff
