My one and only complaint with the F-5E in its current state is the damage model of the Air Data Computer.

My understanding is it would be damaged upon an explosion near the nose (pitot/static sensors damaged) or if the computer itself was hit by shrapnel. Obviously we can't simulate this to 100% accuracy but it's current implementation seems a BIT excessive.

A few questionable circumstances in which I've seen a total ADC failure and subsequent loss of auto flap:

Tailstrike

Tire explosion (heard on the forums)

Small arms fire received nearly anywhere on the airframe

Wing strike (even a small scrape on the wingtip)

It really seems as if the F-5 cannot take ANY damage without losing the ADC.

DCS modules are built up to a spec, not down to a schedule.

In order to utilize a system to your advantage, you must know how it works.

i can confirm for blown tire (at take off) . and a single kamov round fire at 50 meters behind my plane(joke by a friend) .

Take a hit with F5 = lose of ADC .

normal or not? that is the question :smartass:

Maybe the ADC can only be implemented with an airframe in perfect condition?
