In Progress!

"Yeah, and though I work in the valley of Death, I will fear no Evil. For where there is one, there is always three. I preparest my aircraft to receive the Iron that will be delivered in the presence of my enemies. Thy ALCM and JDAM they comfort me. Power was given unto the aircrew to make peace upon the world by way of the sword. And when the call went out, Behold the "Sword of Stealth". And his name was Death. And Hell followed him. For the day of wrath has come and no mercy shall be given."

JH-7A Flying Leopard

JH-7A Flying Leopard

Description

The Xian JH-7 also known as the FBC-1 Flying Leopard (NATO Code Flounder), is a two-seater (tandem), twin-engine fighter-bomber in service with the People's Liberation Army Naval Air Force (PLANAF), and the People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF). This fighter aircraft was designed and manufactured by Xian Aircraft Industry Corporation. The JH-7 Xian was first revealed publicly September 1988 as model at Farnborough International air show, with the first of two prototypes having been rolled out during previous month. This fighter aircraft is designed to have the same role and configuration class as the Russian Sukhoi Su-24 'Fencer'. The first batch of 12 to 18 JH-7 aircraft was delivered to both PLNAF and PLAAF for evaluation in the 1990's. The upgraded JH-7 is known as JH-7A and was delivered to PLAAF in 2004.

The JH-7A has internal armament, in the form of a two-barreled Type 23-III "teeter-totter" cannon, a variant of the Soviet GSh-23 cannon, on the lower right side of the fuselage, roughly near the wing leading edge -- a position that no doubt reduced problems with engine gun gas ingestion. All stores are carried externally. Stores attachments include:

A rail on each wingtip for an air-to-air missile (AAM).

Three stores pylons under each wing, the outboard pylon being for lightweight stores such as AAMs, the middle pylon being "wet" for carriage of fuel tanks, with the inboard pylon being for carriage of heavy stores, particularly antiship missiles -- the C-801 solid-fuel missile or nowdays its C-802 turbojet-powered derivative.

A "wet" centerline pylon for carriage of an external fuel tank.

Two small pylons under the fuselage just rear of the engine intakes, these being for carriage of targeting pods and the like. These two little pylons were not fitted to the original JH-7.

The JH-7A can carry AAMs, typically a short-range AAM on each wingtip station and a larger AAM on each outboard wing pylon. Possible AAM armaments include:

PL-5: A "clone" of the US Sidewinder heat-seeking AAM, with the latest PL-5E variant comparable to the US AIM-9L "all-aspect" missile -- meaning its seeker is sensitive enough that it doesn't have to be aimed at a target's exhaust to zero in on it. The PL-5 is a typical wingtip store for the JH-7A. "PL", incidentally, stands for "PiLi (Thunderbolt)", an entertainingly dramatic general Chinese term for an AAM.

PL-8: A copy of the Israeli Rafael Python 3 AAM, a more agile heat-seeking weapon than the PL-5, with longer wings that restrict its carriage to the wing pylons. Some illustrations suggest the existence or at least the possibility of a dual-stores rack to permit twin PL-5s to be carried on a single pylon.

PL-11: A semi-active radar homing (SARH) AAM, a derivative of the Italian Aspide AAM, itself a variant of the US AIM-7 Sparrow AAM; later versions of the PL-11 are rumored to have an active radar seeker. It is arguable that the PL-11 is ever actually carried by the Flying Leopard, but the aircraft's JL-10A radar system can in principle support it, allowing the JH-7A to be potentially used as a long-range interceptor.

Offensive weapons include iron bombs, cluster munitions, guided bombs, unguided rocket pods, antiship missiles, and anti-radar missiles. Total external warload is given as a hefty 8 tonnes (8.8 tons). It can also be configured for the electronic warfare (EW) role, carrying jamming pods on its underwing pylons.

JH-7 external stores

Semi Realistic version.

Based upon the specs above.

All weapons work.

Increased gun ammo

Correct pylon configuration

Complete theme with music.

This theme and re-mod is dedicated to happy cavin.

Thank you my friend!

You have added some very cool aircraft to this sim.

How about a dogfight? :D

I will take the F-22 or F-35.

You chose the J-31 or JH-7A

Might be fun!:)

Important!

To make this work, you must copy the SU-27.dll from the FC3 bin folder to the JH-7A bin folder,

You must also copy the KneeBoardLeft folder from the FC3 cockpit folder to the JH-7A cockpit folder.

Have fun!
