nelsondx Posted December 19, 2016 Posted December 19, 2016 (edited) Hello there people! Today I finally found a way to have a working headtracker(aka, using my phone as the UDP sender) and I'm having some problems fixing some mapping settings, for example, I cant zoom in and so on. I was wondering if someone could share their mapping settings or give me a hand, I'd be thankful. Thank you! zaelu Posted December 21, 2016 Posted December 21, 2016 I use (Opentrack 2.30 release) the default or almost default but with an PS3 camera and a IR LED arrangement similar to TrackIR clip Pro. http://imgur.com/a/fx9Q4 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] I5 4670k, 32GB, GTX 1070, Thrustmaster TFRP, G940 Throttle extremely modded with Bodnar 0836X and Bu0836A, Warthog Joystick with F-18 grip, Oculus Rift S - Almost all is made from gifts from friends, the most expensive parts at least
nelsondx Posted December 23, 2016 Author Posted December 23, 2016 I'll give it a try. I did find some good settings and I messed with them a little, so far so good. LAGreen Posted December 28, 2016 Posted December 28, 2016 I use Opentrack for emulation 4-axis TrackIR on the keyboard: If desired, can be 6DOF Complete information on setting up in this post: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2998473&postcount=1
nelsondx Posted December 28, 2016 Author Posted December 28, 2016 I did manage to find a good mapping and I edited a little to my taste. I can't make the zoom work properly so I just use 2 buttons on my joystick, works just as good in my opinion. RightStuff Posted December 28, 2016 Posted December 28, 2016 If your main problem is the missing 6DOF, this setup 'trick' might help: Works pretty well!
noisy_lightning Posted December 28, 2016 Posted December 28, 2016 I shall post some screenshots of my setup later on but I didn't have to use keyboard or mouse emulation and I have fully functional 6DOF. Zoom can be achieved by assigning the correct axis to zoom in game but I prefer the thumb axis on my throttle for that. I shall be home in a few hours so will sort the screen shots then. nelsondx Posted December 29, 2016 Author Posted December 29, 2016 (edited) I need to try it! But you use Point Tracker as the input device, I use FreePIE UDP. EDIT: I tweaked the pitch a little to my liking but I'll leave the rest. Very good setting! Really stable and it was exactly what I was looking for, thank you for sharing! :) Edited December 29, 2016 by nelsondx Modules I own: Bf109K-4, FW190D-9, P-51D Mustang, F-86F Sabre, MiG-15bis, L-39 Albatros, MiG-21bis, F-5E Tiger II, A-10C(The Enemy Within Campaign), Flamming Cliffs 3.
Proofbenny Posted January 26, 2017 Posted January 26, 2017 Hi I have been trying to get my Track IR setup going for a few days , I am using opentrack software with a modded PS3 eye and a 3 light clip with headphones, I can get the opentrack software to see me and everything looks like its working , but I can not for the life of me work out how to connect that to DCS, I know that the TRACKIR control tab is there after I run opentrack but there is nothing else , and it just doesn't work! any help would be great, Iv been looking into the headtracker.dll and messed around with putting that in my bin folder and stuff but nothing seems to work Cheers
nelsondx Posted February 14, 2017 Author Posted February 14, 2017 You need to click in Options -> Game detection. Then you just select DCS.exe and it should work. Vipor_X Posted December 7, 2019 Posted December 7, 2019 I have found that the glare from my glasses effects Track IR stability. Bright screen vs dark. Just a FYI.
Coastiejeff Posted July 24, 2020 Posted July 24, 2020 Is there a trick to getting your custom curves saved in the Profile? I have to reset my curves every time I start it up. Tad annoying. Thanks in advance
No1sonuk Posted July 25, 2020 Posted July 25, 2020 Is there a trick to getting your custom curves saved in the Profile? I have to reset my curves every time I start it up. Tad annoying. I just set my mapping and pressed OK. Did you do it with the game not running? It might need to be done that way.

It might need to be done that way.I change mine on whilst the game is running and then it just saves. Maybe try creating a new profile and make sure the file isn't read only in the save folder.
