Avio Posted January 8, 2017 Posted January 8, 2017 From time to time midway in flying, i would hear a hissing sound that last for a few seconds. Sounds like some compressed air being released. Anyone knows what that could be?

msalama Posted January 8, 2017 Posted January 8, 2017 An automatic release valve opening somewhere and dumping excess pressure I'd guess. The DCS Mi-8MTV2. The best aviational BBW experience you could ever dream of.
msalama Posted January 8, 2017 Posted January 8, 2017 But then, does the plane have any pneumatics or is it all hydraulic / electric? The DCS Mi-8MTV2. The best aviational BBW experience you could ever dream of.

Mumby Posted January 10, 2017 Posted January 10, 2017 Hi, Does it sound like radio static? If so it might be the TACAN. When you go outside the range of the TACAN beacon (80 -90 nm, something like that?) the TACAN-code beeping sound gets replaced by intermittent static. Next time it happens try turning down the TACAN volume and see if the hiss volume is reduced. If it is, you found the problem. Otherwise, dial in a closer station or fly towards the selected station and see if the hissing turn into the beeping.

Tucker Fleming Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 You might have a drag flap open, look at outside view and make sure you're running clean.
