I pre-purchased the Viggen and read that I need to download the 1.5 Open Beta (Early Access). Then I read another thread in this Viggen forum that says that installation will not take long because the 1.5 Early Access will basically copy files from my existing DCS installs, which for me is 1.5 and 2.0 Open Alpha with the Nevada scenery.

The downloader that I downloaded from was from: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/world/beta/ and it was taking a long time and not a short time, only 4 or 5 MB per second. So I then cancelled the download about 20 minutes into it because I noticed that files were being copied from my DCS 2.0 folder.

So was I doing the right thing?

Also, can I have all 3 versions of DCS on my same C:\ drive?

You don't need 3 versions. You can easily update your 1.5.5 release to 1.5.6 open beta via

dcs_updater.exe update @openbeta

If you want to change it back to 1.5.5, replace @openbeta with @release

Where am I supposed to put that line?

I can't get the dam open beta to install with out downloading 30 gig.

I pay by the mb

I tried copying the folder and putting the beta updater in it but that doesn't work.

Stayed up till 2am to fly viggen and I just spending an hour jacking arround trying to install the dam beta without downloading it .

Accidentally deleted my main folder and the 3rd party UI updater won't work either...

God dam what a bummer :(

Thank you all. I now have all 3 versions installed, and the Viggen is working in DCS 1.5 Open Beta.
