About thirty I reckon, mostly in finding the touchdown sweet spot :bounce:

I've been practicing for an air display video. These are some of the ones that went wrong. The idea is to end with a slide landing run into the parking slot between the two tankers, as in the previous video, but they don't always go well.

Flying the Gazelle, hands off, at very low level, with the stability off and not using the cyclic, pedals or trim, which are all centred. Collective is used for height adjustment.

I devised this little mission to get some practice with my new pedals.The idea is to destroy the building in the store compound, without using weapons or cyclic/trim.

 

This is the short version, which normally involves another compound with 4 buildings and a landing back at base. Only collective and pedals are allowed.

My instructor is teaching me how to park the Gazelle in the hangar.

Hover just in front of the door, then gently ease her in, or touch down, then slide in. Cyclic is disabled to make it simpler for the student.
