AATF 2 AAR NIGHT-Tanker no where to be seen

HI All,

 

I am not sure what is going on with AATF 2, but I cannot see the tanker at all...I have tried twice restarting this mission but no joy....:(

 

Tried viewing via the external friendly view{F2 key} and no joy there {I cannot see the tanker}, but I have noticed two aircraft's are stuck at the end of the runway at Kobeliti (A-117&C-130 is suppose to be normal?)

 

Tacan x05 cannot see it.....I do not know what to do with this mission as I cannot move onto the next...

Hey Munga,

 

I think i've seen this as well.

In my case the C-130 crashed when i speeded up time while waiting for the CDU startup. & this prevented the rest of the mission script to run properly.

 

When i did the startup in real time (no acceleration) it did not happen.

The tanker spawns later in the mission but we have noticed that recently 5X on the TACAN doesn't work but 5Y does.

 

You won't get distance to the tanker but you will get bearing. Also there are 2 F-16Cs flying as escort so you can locate the tanker by finding these flights on your TADS.

 

Hopefully ED will fix the tanker TACAN so 5X and the distance will work properly again.

The tanker spawns in the same trigger as the F-16Cs so it should be there.

 

Are you flying with NVGs on? Usually you can see it.

 

If you can get a response on the Radio via UHF 251 then the tanker is there but you might have to get very close to visually see it since it's a night mission.

HI,

 

I have tried again and again.....this time I see F-15's but still no tanker...UHF is 251...

 

I do not know what to do with this.....AAFT1 is no different then AAFT2 but its at night time..."correct"...

 

Is it worth restarting or resetting the Campaign???

 

.....There is something wrong with the script here because my first one tonight I couldn't leave the ground because there was A-10C blocking runway 7....{no plane was moving}...

 

i need help please...

Sabre.....Call it strange or whatever!!!!

 

I read it somewhere in the forum to update the video drivers...I did that and started the AATF2 mission. Alhough I noticed I wasn't able to takeoff due to many planes on the runway, I broke the rules and managed to takeoff.{naughty me!!!}. The mission continued and I can hear the Tanker and see it. I managed to refuel and RTB at Kobeliti. Although I had damaged the plane a little on landing, I had passed the AAFT 2

 

Once again call it strange{BTW I was flying with out my instructor, he was still stuck on the taxiway}

Update: My findings

 

I update video drivers, because I read it above and nvidia has a new version any (it's not the issue)

 

I also, re-installed the campaign..

 

NO TANKER (well.. not in the right spot)

 

I tried a couple times and noticed no tanker but could easily link with f-16's..(btw, tk 5x works)

 

I am able to contact tanker and get a read-out on distance...

 

I was between wp5 & 6 w/ only the f16's..(after the "turn with tanker" instruction)... never got the instruction.. Then I did? So, that made me turn on NVG and look behind me..

 

I turned 360 and flew way(miles) back and linked up with the tanker?

 

I wonder what is causing it to spawn way behind? It is never "gone" just not in the right path at the right time..

 

Also, my way points don't auto switch to the next wp as I pass through them..does this affect the spawn?

 

Is the spawn of the tanker trigger by radio as "intent to re-fuel"?

No the tanker spawns when you takeoff however there have been reported issues with AI not following programmed speed settings so we suspect that may be why the tanker is behind you at the RV point.

 

We will do some testing and see if we can force the tanker to make the waypoint on time instead of using a speed setting.

Thank you. The instructor was in a good mood and allowed me to turn and burn for miles in the wrong heading to accomplish the task. Let him know I appreciate it :megalol:

I can confirm it happened to me as well, hit the RVCP on time, but i watched the tanker turn in off my left wing, and it fell into trail behind me about 7NM back.

 

I circled back and got it.

 

SharkBaztard, you can change the autosequencing on the CDU in the Flight Plan Menu, toggle between manual/auto.

I had the same issue a few night ago. It was completely random too. Only once I found it spawned behind me but the other times I only found the two F16's. Running 1.5.8 beta latest.

 

I ended up getting a 75 on the misison anyway after I exited to refly it thinking a reboot would help. I'll try and restart the campaign in 2.5 but for now I moved on to mission 3.
