Hi!

Ill try to explain as good as i can, as my english isnt the best.

Currently im doing the Campaign and having a blast.

However i do have some issues i fail to figure out.

I've been reading up on Chuck's Mirage 2000 guide, and i have done all the tutorials ingame. But i still cant figure this out whats wrong with the radio (Green)

Im currently doing the (SPOILER ALTER :music_whistling:) 5th mission (The traitor).

When the IP/Wingman tells me he have issues with his plane and need to divert back to the airport, he tells me to swtich to channel 4. "Athena" (AWACS i think) should pop up and speak. When i change the channel, nothing happens . I cant hear anything. And this have been the issue in each mission. Acourding to the briefing i usually need to switch channels And i do. But it doesnt work. I do her my Wingman. And i do get the F10 options when i change channels in some cases (if i dont, the F10 option wont appear....or so i believe) :D

Does anyone have any idea what im doing wrong?

I usually do a auto startup (i know, im a cheater). Could it be something there? I try to go over the radio to check if everything is OK. And its looks sfine. Its identically to another guy doing the same mission on Youtube.

Also got some issues with the IFF. When i set the correct number, and move the dial to either SECT og CONF, but it doesnt seem to mark friendly aircraft.

Anyone have any ideas/ help for me :D

Are you sure you can tell which radio is the green and which is the red ? (like a trafic light, red at the top, green at the bottom ;))

You have to make sure you fly on the flight plan to trigger the radios speeches.

For the IFF setting the correct number is of no use (not simulated : you can put anything or nothing, but KEEP DOING IT. It's role play and who knows if it will be implemented one day :)).

To turn the system on you have to put the right switch to SECT or CONT (as you do) but to trigger and interrogation you have to press the NWS/IFF button and the friendlies will be filled green. Be careful the identification only last a few seconds and after that friendlies and hostiles will be the same.

If you have any other questions feel free to ask ;).

Thanks alot for your answer myHelljumper.

I do know the difference between Green and Red radio, but im going to look into the manual again :o)

That i have to make sure i fly on the flightpath so i can trigger the "speeches" might the issues! Although i could have sworn i followed it all the time. But maybe i need to fly in formation with my wingman aswell?

One last question. When aligning the INS. Is the alignment effected by moving, meaning taxing?

Hey! Pretty much as myHelljumper says - correct radio procedures are not easy and IMHO they are one of the most demanding aspects of the campaign. And yeah, following the correct flight path is important ,as some events are triggered when you are in the certain spot.

That IS linked with the next question - the INS alignment is very important and is affected by moving. IRL it is done even before turning on the engines (as even the micro-turbulences generated by this can have effects on the alignment). Also, some people missed some dialogues because they didn't do the alignment correctly and were off the flight plan even though they thought they were right on top of it.

I would recommend that you do the training missions as well, they do cover radios and alignment. Hope this helps!

Thanks alot for your answer baltic_dragon

Its starting to be clear what im doing wrong. It must be that im im not follow the correct flight path due to some missunderstaing with my navigation. Going to dive as deep as i can into the radios/NAV and do all of the training again, and again ...and again :)

Thankfully the Campaign helps you abit on the way aswell when it comes to handling this fantastic jet. Love the way "tutorials" are implemented along with a cool story/plot.

Again thanks for everything and all the replys.
