tribundf Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 Hey guys, Has anybody checked this out: https://www.pro-flight-trainer.com/collections/control-full-sets/products/pro-flight-trainer-puma I am blown away by the price tag. Only about $1000 for a complete setup! Thoughts?
Duckling Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 Nice find 1250Euro,from Germany, could be worse Where are they located ? Guess US but their homepage info is kinda lacking usefull info and same about more essential techy part, Manual says 12 bit resolution but that kinda all there is except some dimension pics - - - -
tribundf Posted March 10, 2017 Author Posted March 10, 2017 Check this link. It lists all distributors by countries. https://www.pro-flight-trainer.com/pages/distributors?utm_source=HeliSimmer.com&utm_medium=Article&utm_campaign=None Says it's 878 Euros from aerosoft.com in Germany. What a great deal.
hansangb Posted March 11, 2017 Posted March 11, 2017 Hmm, nice find indeed. If my Komodo dies (it looks like Rich is out of business) I'll have a nice backup. But I wish you didn't have to buy the frame. Takes up too much room for me. hsb HW Spec in Spoiler --- i7-10700K Direct-To-Die/OC'ed to 5.1GHz, MSI Z490 MB, 32GB DDR4 3200MHz, EVGA 2080 Ti FTW3, NVMe+SSD, Win 10 x64 Pro, MFG, Warthog, TM MFDs, Komodo Huey set, Rverbe G1
MK84 Posted March 11, 2017 Posted March 11, 2017 There's a review here. I asked them about the sensors in the comments section. https://www.helisimmer.com/reviews/pro-flight-trainer-puma/ And the Facebook User Group. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1803639116556685/ I use it with X-Plane and Prepar3D at the moment. Have not had time to try it with DCS.

What a great deal. @tribundf, where does it say 878 on aerosoft.com ? Only package I can find on arosoft is the 4th Gen pre-assembled set for 1249.99 Euro. Other 'distributors' list it with same price or higher. (Gen3 with their 'flip' pedals and straight stick goes for less) /Gus - - - -

I looked it up in a hurry on my phone. 1249 would make more sense

ZoscheHH Posted May 6, 2017 Posted May 6, 2017 What can I say ? The trainer is just phenomenal ! I just bought it from aerosoft.de for 1250 €. As mentioned in the review cited above, it comes in a relatively small and light-weight package. After having assembled it myself (took me about an hour), I was astonished how small the dimensions are. But that´s nothing bad at all, since it´s very sturdy and precisely manufactured. And yes, it`s a lot of money, but after having used it for the first hour, I can say, it´s worth its money ! I can hardly believe that I had coped with such a basic equipment as the HOTAS X before. Nothing against the HOTAS flightstick and the rudder pedals which in combination work just fine with DCS, but you feel immediately how much more precise and realistic the steering with the Puma works when you take off with it for the first time. The sensors are so sensitive that it needs only a slight touch of the controls to bring your heli into a different flight attitude. All that without any special adjustments in DCS or on the trainer hardware. The only thing that one has to take care of when using the buttons with the clickable cockpit, is to have the left/right mousebutton as well as the mousewheel functionality mapped to buttons on the throttle stick in order to flip switches and to turn knobs inside the cockpit. Unfortunately DCS doesn`t support this kind of input action natively, so I use KeyToJoy for that. Bottomline: The Puma makes flying so much more precise and realistic, that you won´t regret spending that much money on it ! : ) MSI H170M-A Pro with i5-6600K @ 3.5 Ghz, 16Gb DDR4-2133, ASUS GTX 1080 TI 11 Gb DDR5 352bit, Win10 Pro, PUMA Flight Trainer, DCS 1.5, 2.5 open beta, UH-1H, KA50, Mi8-MTV2, Gazelle. Have a safe flight !
Knock-Knock Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 Always wondered with these setups, if the collective holds itself in place. In other words, can you let go without it falling back down? - and do they even in a real heli? Out of curiosity, how much travel does the cyclic have? And congrats ZoscheHH, looks like a awesome piece of kit. - Jack of many DCS modules, master of none. - Personal wishlist: F-15A, F-4S Phantom II, JAS 39A Gripen, SAAB 35 Draken, F-104 Starfighter, Panavia Tornado IDS. | Windows 11 | i5-12400 | 64Gb DDR4 | RTX 3080 | 2x M.2 | 27" 1440p | Rift CV1 | Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS | MFG Crosswind pedals |

In other words, can you let go without it falling back down? - and do they even in a real heli? > Yes, you can let go of the controls and they stay put, just like they do in a real cockpit. Out of curiosity, how much travel does the cyclic have? > Travel distance is ~11cm in either direction. And congrats ZoscheHH, looks like a awesome piece of kit. > Thanks ! Knock-Knock Posted May 7, 2017 Posted May 7, 2017 Fairly decent throw on the cyclic then, not too little for fixed wings. - Jack of many DCS modules, master of none. - Personal wishlist: F-15A, F-4S Phantom II, JAS 39A Gripen, SAAB 35 Draken, F-104 Starfighter, Panavia Tornado IDS. | Windows 11 | i5-12400 | 64Gb DDR4 | RTX 3080 | 2x M.2 | 27" 1440p | Rift CV1 | Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS | MFG Crosswind pedals |
