GazAce Posted March 21, 2017 Posted March 21, 2017 Well I just flew over two hrs in one mission and dammit again zip nada. Has anyone any tips in completing the third one in Enemy Within? Startin to feel like Bill Murray in GHD here. I'm having this problem as in I find my target (AAA) in this compound on the back of a truck and when I make it SPI and slave everything to it, as I'm turning and lining up my AC to get my GBU ready the camera then sticks to the side of a hill or mountain as the target gets obscured by it!? I end up losing my target and then it's back to flying around in twilight zone again. I've tried so many different ways to get through this but keep getting the same results. it's a good little mission, I just wish my pod would stay on the target. I'll take a nice flat desert with a few rocks and stuff any day GazAce's "Skynet Rig" :: :: 13th Gen Intel Core i9-13900K :: Asus ROG Strix Z790-A Mobo :: Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 MSI Gaming Slim GPU 24GB :: NZXT Kraken Elite 280 RGB AIO White Cooler :: G Skill Trident Z Royals DDR4 4x16GB = 64GB :: WD Black SN 850X NVMe SSD 2TB M.2 (C Drive) :: Samsung 860 Pro 2TB SATA (D Drive) & a couple of other Drives adding another 1.5 TB :: Corsair Crystal 680X White Case :: Asus XG349C 34" Curve G-Sync 180Hz 3440x1440 Monitor :: MSI 1000 Watt PSU PCIE5 :: Virpil Constellation Alpha-R Stick with VPC WarBRD Base :: Virpil MongoosT-50CM3 Throttle :: 3 x CubeSim ext mini screens with TM Cougar MFD Bezels :: Asus ROG Pugio 503 Gaming Mouse & Razer BlackWidow mech kb :: TrackIR 5 Pro & Cap Clip :: Win 11 64 Bit
tifafan Posted March 21, 2017 Posted March 21, 2017 (edited) There are two ways to aviod this. It's normal and caused by ground stablize when you are in point track or area track which initially track the ground closer to you. 1.when right MFCD (TGP page) as SOI and, and TMS aft short and you engage INR track(When in Inertial (INR) mode, the TGP will remain fixed on a geographic reference point.). By TMS aft short, you will see a INR on your TGP screen where you normally see a 'point' or 'area' .when in INR track, anything obuscure your sight won't affect your TGP. 2.Make a markpoint at where you want TGP to stay, make the markpoint as steerpoint, and slave you TGP on it. feefifofum Posted March 21, 2017 Posted March 21, 2017 To expand on TifaFan's suggestion: Mark points are your best option if you need to maneuver prior to engaging your target. 1. Find your target 2. Engage your laser with the NWS button; if you don't have latch on or don't know what that means, hold the button down until you see a flashing L (or B if set to both) at the bottom of the screen. The laser will calculate range precisely and make your mark point more accurate. 3. Press TMS right short to generate a mark point on your target while the L or B is flashing. 4. On your CDU, change the bottom left rotary to MARK 5. With HUD as SOI, select your new mark point and make it your SPI with China aft long 6. Slave all sensors to SPI with China fwd long 7. Kill it! :) Your TGP and/or maverick will remain exactly on your mark point until you're ready to engage. 1 THE GEORGIAN WAR - OFFICIAL F-15C DLC
GazAce Posted March 21, 2017 Author Posted March 21, 2017 Yea I'm just into the PGMs now and they seem a much better option than the MAVs for this mission. GazAce Posted March 21, 2017 Author Posted March 21, 2017 Ahh but now I know what you mean, that's cool and yea I know latch on latch off. I'll try both those suggestions. MAVs are great, especially when you watch em goin in for the kill fast! I just need to ask a couple of questions as my poor little half Polish half Greek Cypriot brain has been over worked by this but last night I did manage to use a IAM successfully and finally after a near week being stuck thank heavens progress to the fourth mission in this very cool TEW campaign. The A-10C is new for me so I'm picking up things and learning each day and I do feel a bit embarrassed asking stuff and pestering you guys here all the time but I always check my manual. I did try what you said but I think I messed up. So, do I make my target SPI?, I'm assuming yes and also how exactly do I select my Mark Point with HUD SOI and then make it SPI when I press China Aft Long, doesn't China Aft Long reset the diamond on my HUD therefore losing the target? Sorry bit muddled here. China Aft Long slaves SPI to Steerpoint, and if you previously set any Markpoint for Steerpoint by switching CDU knob to Markpoint at your right elbow, then it will slave SPI to that.
