Can I not get the rotational snapviews to work in VR? I have snapviews setup to look behind me in 2D working fine, but in VR they only translate the camera position.

Doesn't work in VR. You're going to have to put the effort in and turn around like you would in real life.

If it did work, you would probably induce motion sickness rather quickly.

Yep, VR = 1:1 movement.

I can't imagine how a snap view might make one feel in VR. My stomach churns just thinking about it lol.

In real life, you have a greater peripheral vision which means in VR you have to turn your head and body even further to see behind. This is a real strain on my back in a dogfight. I think motion sickness in VR comes mainly from movements you are not in control of. If I press a button on my joystick to get a static view looking back, I'm in control of this action. You are expecting the reversed motion and it's only temporarily whilst holding the button. It feels fine when done in a racing game. I think you should still have the option to use all snap views in VR, I don't see why the game has disabled the ability to move the camera along this plane when it still allows movement along the X/Y plane. You don't have to use them if it does cause a sickness problem.

I've been using OR for a couple of months now, and I agree. I think the peripheral vission\Fov is the problem. For example. Try to look slightly behind yourself right now. you turn your head roughly 90 degress and turn your eyes backwards Do the same in OR and you loose a lot of peripheral vission backwards.

Compare that to a crisp high-resolution player with TIR and Zoom out scroll: 160-170Fov with planes popping out like black on white and not having to worry about pixel density. All within moving your head just a few degrees.

The mirror wont save you in VR either. I did a test flight Where I centered my view so I could get perfect view on mirror with minimal movement and spent 90% starring at it.

Finally saw something within maybe 100M.

The mirror problem is not related to VR though I think. Its to dark, and obviously bugged (zoom/fov bug when leaning). So if they fix it, that might help relieve the problem in the future.

Im bitching a lot, but that being said. I only fly VR. It's awesome, but I understand ppl waiting for next gen because it can get annoying.

I wonder what kind of peripheral and rear view actual fighter pilots have, strapped in with helmets? I don't believe they can turn their head too much with the restrictions of their helmet and the seat back blocking the view. I guess that's where a wing man comes in. Also if you were flying solo wouldn't you be occasionally braking left/right to see what's going on behind you?
