scotth6 Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 Hi, It seems to be that when a new module is purchased it needs to be activated in each version of DCS (1.5 beta, 1.5 stable, 2.0 Alpha). If a module has 10 activations, does this mean that it has 10 activations per version of DCS World, or does it use up 3 activations out of the 10 activating in to three versions of the sim? Cheers,
cichlidfan Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 (edited) Hi, It seems to be that when a new module is purchased it needs to be activated in each version of DCS (1.5 beta, 1.5 stable, 2.0 Alpha). No it doesn't. One activation per machine. I am quite puzzled how you could even come to that conclusion. scotth6 Posted April 5, 2017 Author Posted April 5, 2017 (edited) Well I have had to activate modules in different versions in the past. That is how I came to that conclusion. Are you telling me I shouldn't have had to do that? Then why are different versions all asking for a module to be activated? Edited April 5, 2017 by scotth6
cichlidfan Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 Well I have had to activate modules in different versions in the past. There is only one registry entry and you can have 30 different versions of the sim installed but they will still only access that one registry entry for any given aircraft. grunf Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 Cichlidfan is right, you should activate each module only once, regardless of how many different DCS versions and installations you have on your PC. Any particular module that gives you activation troubles?
Rudel_chw Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 ... Then why are different versions all asking for a module to be activated? What you may have seen is that the modules are activated where they are first used; so for example the Nevada terrain and the Red Flag Campaigns are activated only when I run DCS 2.0 and not on DCS 1.5 For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600 - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia RTX2080 - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar Mobile: iPad Pro 12.9" of 256 GB
cichlidfan Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 Then why are different versions all asking for a module to be activated? The same module? Probably not. Have you actually checked your licenses, on your profile page, to see how many activations have been used?
