Will old missions still work ?

just one question:

when I update from 1.5.4 to 1.5.6 latest, will my old missions (self made) still work ? Or are they just trash and have to be rebuild?

Yes they will work.

 

Sometimes scripting and triggers need to be updated but IIRC 1.5.4-1.5.6 didn't break any of those either.

Should be ok, just make sure you re-save the missions in the editor first.

Yes, open the .miz and hit save again prior to flying them in the new version.

 

Occasionally features may become bugged but generally speaking you should be fine. I've been dragging some of the ops my VFS uses around since DCS 1.2 :)
