Odin_Norway Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 I've been searching for information all night now for which rudder pedals which are the best to combine with the TM Cougar. I read at frugals world I think, that Simped Vario worked fine, but then I read somewhere else that this is not produced anymore and I couldn't find any site for the products as well. Anyway, should I use rudders with a 15pin connector to connect to the throttlestick or would usb-rudders ie. CH pro pedals work just fine? Thanks in advance Oдин
Deadman Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 http://home.arcor.de/p.madel/simped/simp001.htm As Fare as I know Diter is still making them https://forum.dcs.world/topic/133818-deadmans-cockpit-base-plans/#comment-133824 CNCs and Laser engravers are great but they can't do squat with out a precise set of plans.
Odin_Norway Posted December 8, 2006 Author Posted December 8, 2006 Thanks man  The F-16 variant looks really sweet, but it was quite expensive. Would the Vario do just fine? Do you need toe-breaks in Lomac FC and BS? I mean is it an option for it or is it just MS FS / x-plane you use toe breaks? Guess this sounds like a rookie question :music_whistling: Oдин
VMFA-Blaze Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 Thanks man  The F-16 variant looks really sweet, but it was quite expensive. Would the Vario do just fine? Guess this sounds like a rookie question :music_whistling: The Vaio is great in this sim as well as any other sim that you might want to play... Lock On doesn't support toe brakes now (but who knows, Ed might decide to add this feature in the future)... Actually you can purchase Vario and add the F-16 upgrade later on if you decide to... One thing though these are high quality pedals and are actually custom made (not mass produced) by one man in Germany.. So takeing that into consideration, there is a waiting period ... Check out Frugals web site, theres a thread that is specifally set up for order satus and information regarding Simpeds... ARM505 Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 Old analogue CH pedals work fine as well, but you'll need to do a little rewiring if you want to get toe brake functionality as well.
Triggerhappy69 Posted December 16, 2006 Posted December 16, 2006 Pedals for Cougar Hey Odin.. Why not just make some youself..? I made mine about a year ago now. After having given up on all pre-made ones becuase the were just to narrow and unprecise for good Su-25 strafing attacks (or at least I thought so..) After a few "glitches" in the beginning (mostly due to poor soldering and Potmeter failures) They are now preforming perfectly.. And a hell of a lot cheaper than buying new ones.. Ps. These are pics of the 1'st version that used a Gameport to USB converter. Later I just connected them to my cougar, and started kicking myself for not doing that from the beginning..! "But (504)Brewber said they were'nt friendly.. So I took'em out.!" [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Odin_Norway Posted December 17, 2006 Author Posted December 17, 2006 Well I have ordered now from SimPed, but as I understand it can take a few months before I get them. About making my own, I could be able to cut the wooden pieces myself but the metalpieces, where do you get them from? Oдин

Triggerhappy69 Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 Where to buy the metal pieces.. At Clas Ohlson mate..! And it's cheap..! "But (504)Brewber said they were'nt friendly.. So I took'em out.!" [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Woodstock Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 I´m absolutely happy with my Simped F-16 pedals for quite some time now. And you can actually use the toebrakes both in LOMAC and in Falcon. You just program the two analogue axis in Foxy to both produce the digital wheelbrake keycommand. Works like a charm, the only thing you can´t get is differential braking... "For aviators like us, the sky is not the limit - it's our home!"
