Starway, Barthtek, Mustang, or any of you awesome terrain gurus... any chance we could get a mod for modern runways and taxiways we have in place of the dirt in Normandy? Would like to fly modern jets off proper pavement!

Thanks!

Would that even work? In my mind the terrain guys are doing retextures, and the dirt runways simulate dirt runways. Wouldn't they just be paved looking if they retextured them, but still acting like dirt runways?

It would be a nice visual option though , as it stands all runways in normandy are bland it would be nice to have a bit more variety and texture.

Cheers

I think the dirt runways in Normandy are just acting like concrete runways... would be nice to have a re-texture though

Concrete is one thing. The fact that the longest runway in Normandy is 6000' (and only available to the British) is going to be the real shocker. Short field technique for all the jets!

A B-17G at MTOW needs 3780' takeoff roll in no wind, and 4925' to clear a 50' obstacle, almost every inch of those runways with trees on the ends.

Well I'd assume hastily built runways in modern times (80s-2000s) would be built with similar constraints... I don't think its out of the realm of possibility. The C-17, C-130, etc. were built with short, unimproved fields in mind

I'm not sure about the other runways but Needs Oar Point is very easy to land on. I've tried the A10, Viggen and M2000c and they don't have a problem.
