Help hdd w7 to ssd w10 same computer

Want to install new ssd on my computer and also window 10. Have installed dcs on w7 on hdd and want to keep both operating systems. How can I migrate from w7 to 8 from hdd to ssd, possibly without installing everything again. Do I have to deactivate or not? How does dcs know where to install updates if I have dcs in window 7 on hdd and dcs on w 10 on ssd..

Hope someone can give me exact steps on how to proceed.

Easiest way without having to install everything again is:

 

1) upgrade OS to new OS

2) Use Carbon Copy Cloner to copy over all contents of HD to SSD (create MBR)

3) reboot and select the SSD as your 1st boot option

Do you want to keep Win7?

Dcs will Update the version that you start and update.

If you have Samsung SSD: I was fine doing the steps above with Samsung's tool and without deactivating any modules
