iVVChewy9141VVi Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 Are you able to use the Rotary Encoder Knobs for trim? I am currently building New PC so i am just asking in advance
Knock-Knock Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 Ive been using my DSD (Derek Speare Designs) P2 button box rotaries for trim on the P-51 and Spitfire. Is very fine adjustments, cause the button presses inside the rotaries are very fast, so when adjusting rudder or pitch, it takes quite a lot of rotations - when adjusting from take off for example. Thats the downside. But the big plus, is that its very precise. For Jets I just use the trim HAT on the stick, but I guess the same applies. 1 - Jack of many DCS modules, master of none. - Personal wishlist: F-15A, F-4S Phantom II, JAS 39A Gripen, SAAB 35 Draken, F-104 Starfighter, Panavia Tornado IDS. | Windows 11 | i5-12400 | 64Gb DDR4 | RTX 3080 | 2x M.2 | 27" 1440p | Rift CV1 | Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS | MFG Crosswind pedals |
iVVChewy9141VVi Posted July 3, 2017 Author Posted July 3, 2017 So i guess the Rotaries would be better for Freq changes. +1 Love the box and all just getting set up for the F-18 Have a Flight Systems box (Race King) Want to do a weapons system box and another box for other stuff but the FLT2 looks like it has enough for both in 1. Time will tell its nice to see boxes like this at such a nice price
LeCuvier Posted July 3, 2017 Posted July 3, 2017 I use the rotary encoders on my DSD for: FW-190: Compass bezel and altimeter pressure Bf-109: same P-51: same Spit: same AJS-37: Radar brightness and range F-5E: Flight and Engine Instrument brightness For trim I use mostly a hat switch. In my opinion, trim does not require high accuracy but I want it to happen fast. In the Bf-109 I use the slider on my TM WH throttle for elevator trim.
