Atooyi
Hi every one In this thread I'm going to upload some tomcat footages that many of us might have not seen before, and if available just a little bit of background on that footage. Source of my photos are mostly from my friends channel of telegram ( a very popular messenger in Iran), if you ever started using this app please go and give him a subscribe he usually post really rare and unseen photos sent to him mostly by Air force veterans or active pilots. @IRIAFKHALATBARI There might (and I'm sure there will be) some doubts on some of those background stories but if you want to start a discussion on the approval, please do it briefly. thank you all And here we get back to the tomcats: IRIAF ace pilot, Gen Fazlollah Javidnia standing next to 3-6020 Tomcat he had 4 confirmed kills during Iran-Iraq conflict 3-6020 tomcat was the first tomcat to shoot an Aim54 to a mig25 and force him to cancel his mission. ================================= Another lovely tomcat in the base :D:D:D:D ============================== Tomcat with the 3-6039 tail number Some sources confirms that it had the most long range A-A kill (150Km s) using Aim54 against Mirage f1 ===================== And last one for today: https://www.dropbox.com/s/7a14x2voj7ur2ds/240910807.mp4?dl=0 some really nice footage of tomcats with some lovely music in the background ===========================

Sent from my SM-G928F using Tapatalk I myself would really love to see those weathering on the radome and the other parts modeled in the dcs version (radome weathering is way worse in the IRIAF blue tomcat scheme):cry::cry:

Pikey
But seriously, the paint job on those needs to be done for release by a fantastic artist, it's just so damn sexy and the Country setting with the Hormuz map is painting a picture of some great DCS online multiplayer gaming that I have been waiting for ever since the F18 was first shown as WIP back in A-10C only days. It's great that the Tomcat was exported just for the virtual fun we will have together. ___________________________________________________________________________ SIMPLE SCENERY SAVING * SIMPLE GROUP SAVING * SIMPLE STATIC SAVING *

I totally trust heatblur on the paint job...they know how to create really awesome repaints..totally agree with the middle eastern map, but to be honest I really think the western iran-iraq-kuwait and northern KSA map would be way better, there had been so many wars happening there since the early 80's beginning with Iran-Iraq conflict, anyway...this is not the place to discuss about the map ;);) Edited July 11, 2017 by Atooyi

Atooyi
after some absence I'll continue this topic again. ------------------------------------- not sure about this one but I guess this photo was taken in Isfahan (sometimes written Esfahan) 8th air force base. ------------------------------------- famous tomcat mentioned in previous post, guess this one is also in Isfahan but different airbase :):):) ------------------------------------- also tomcat, but the helmet in the front belongs to one of the f-4 front seat drivers of 9th T.F.B 91sq known as sharks of bushehr to the public. ------------------------------------- tomcat parked in esfahan 8th airbase during an airshow. ------------------------------------- yup it's tomcat! ------------------------------------- terribly weathered radar cone but sure enough the great artists of heat blur can recreate the weathering the best way possible on their upcoming tomcats :))) ------------------------------------- IIAF tomcats during thier tests in USA. -------------------------------------
Atooyi
During the latest Exercises for Air force on one of missions 2 tomcats had the task of intercepting the one f-7 and one f-5 who had the task to take down a mocked airport (flying in the weeds). As my friend who was flying the f-7 (Chinese version of mig21) told me the f-14 could only find them when they were flying over flat areas for just a couple of minutes and then lost them as they entered the terrain mask!! ---------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------- ever noticed none of Iranian tomcats has the cover of refueling prob? guess why!!!! (I'm pretty sure this is one of the details heatblur would definitely simulate them on their Iriaf tomcat version) ---------------------------------------- tomcat with a different scheme!!! ---------------------------------------- 6039 (۶۰۳۹) during an airshow in Isfahan. ----------------------------------------

Negative, they are removed because of all the sand the area. it prevents the cover from opening FC3 | UH-1H | A-10C | F/A-18C | F-16C | F-14B | P-51D | F-5E | AV-8B | Caucasus | Nevada | Normandy | Persian Gulf | The Channel | SuperCarrier |
