How the hell did you manage to turn it on in the first place :D ? I thought it wasn't implemented yet?

When turned on in the game options, it just shows either green nothing or blue nothing (toggle mirror doesn't seem to work I admit), when turned off in the options, it's off for good.

Used to be able to turn of completely and have a black face on what was usually the mirror face. Now I am unable to turn off completely (black face), even when the mirror box is not checked (turned off) under options. Are you saying that you are able to turn off completely to get the no mirror (black face) option?

At the moment I can't turn the mirror off as before. Even when on it is not functioning correctly and just shows fuzzy blue, green or brown, depending on what is behind (no tail fine either).

Perhaps the Spit developers could let us know the situation with the mirror.

Ah, I see what you mean. When "off" in the options it shows flat grey when on the ground so I thought it was off for good. I don't even recall it being black, had to check on older youtube vids for reference... but that's probaly because I use very narrow FoV by default, so most of the time I can't see it anyway - it's always above my screen area and I generally don't use any mirrors in DCS, as the eat too many fps.

When in the air, you're right, it starts projecting various fuzziness indeed. I assume ED starts tinkering with providing functional mirror at last, but when "off" it should be completely off I admit.

I agree with you re mirrors eating too many fps, which is why, generally speaking, I like to turn them off completely.

Even better, I wish the dev's would allow us a pilot option to remove the mirror completely from the airframe. I don't imagine it was compulsory to have a mirror fitted if it was not wanted in RL.

It seems one can't even turn it off by disabling it in the scripts like before.

Probably an intermediate state before merging with 2.1?

The propeller animation is also very annoying, and it was reported before as one cause of slowdown, so it could be either the fake mirror or that. I believe there was a fix for the prop, you may try that and see if that improves the situation.

Here's one mod that was improving the framerate: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/2306815/

Not sure it's still compatible with the current version though.
