FENDER Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 same mission set gnd unit with freq beacon in single mission the signal recived and force needle reaction, however, same mission in MP - nothing!
SUNTSAG Posted July 20, 2017 Posted July 20, 2017 Hi Fender, Unfortunately this not just an issue that affects the Huey, its all aircraft in multiplayer. In my experience it was only the host that could receive unit based signals in MP. TBH it's an issue that's been around for a while, together with other MP issues. IMHO it is frustrating and annoying from a mission building perspective and creates a limitation in the MP environment. I really hope ED will fix this sooner rather than later and include other MP fixes at the same time. For me personally MP is the only way to fly and I feel instances of this nature only have the potential to hinder MP growth in DCS. Not a rant or demand by the way just statement of fact as I see things at the moment. Callsign: NAKED My YouTube Channel [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
FENDER Posted July 25, 2017 Author Posted July 25, 2017 Thx mate for your replay, indeed this is a big limitation for MP missions,,,
BaD CrC Posted July 25, 2017 Posted July 25, 2017 Confirmed here. Choppers do not receive beacons in MP on the clients side when it is working perfectly in SP or on the server side. A bit frustrating indeed for missions builders. Dead reconing is fun but not so much when you are looking for your downed pilots or when you cannot see the ground. https://www.blacksharkden.com http://discord.gg/blacksharkden
wolf5 Posted July 25, 2017 Posted July 25, 2017 Try this. Not my idea, original was found here. Still work on MP. You can try with a Huey (30MHz) or Hip (Ark-UD canal 1)Beacon.miz People fly planes, pilots fly helicopters
Paganus Posted July 25, 2017 Posted July 25, 2017 The NDB's built into the map do work in MP. I know it's not ideal, but you can use them until placed beacons are fixed.
SUNTSAG Posted July 25, 2017 Posted July 25, 2017 Of course there is a scripting workaround that works perfectly well in MP and that is to use the MIST & CTLD scripts and create beacon zones that will provide UHF/VHF/FM frequencies by which you can navigate. It's an option I currently use to good effect until a fix presents itself. Callsign: NAKED My YouTube Channel [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
