Hi all. From my attached pic I just wanted to place that SAM on the peak of the hill in a mission. Is there an easy way of doing it rather than guessing on the mission editor map? Sorry new to this editing thing and appreciate your help. Thanks!

Hey chief...unfortunately not at the moment, though a 3D view in the mission editor is on ED's to-do list. There is a workaround called Witchcraft that is fairly complex, but will use a second installation of DCS to generate a real-time view of placed units, you can find it with the search function.

For things like the peak of a hill, you can look at the toolbar which should display the altitude at the current cursor position; this combined with the ALT map option should give you a rough idea of the topography. For fine tuning unfortunately it's a lot of restarting the .miz and hitting F7. :)

Yeah I did the altitude thing. Takes a little time to figure where the highest point is but it works. I look into that witchcraft since I do have a second installation that I use for the server. Thanks!
