OT.... MSN Messenger wont start up but is in processes tab?

don't know where else to go but i try to open MSN messenger live and it doesnt start up, however its in the processes tab but window wont pop up.. tried re-installing but nuthin. kinda not about lockon but i have no where else to turn to. anyone know the problem?

If you kill the process and launch it afterwards does it work?

I have the same problem.. Mine will make my computer freeze and at times I have to do a hard reboot.. FInally after installing and re-installing.. I gave up.. That's why I'm not around on msn messenger in weeks..

 

It was running fine untill I upgraded to LIVE..

He hasnt reinstalled anything Ironhand because his PC wont let him. He is basicly saying he is stuck on live.

 

I have live windows live messenger 8.1 and it works fine for me.

i just recently got a new sound card but after i installed the sound card Messenger worked fine until now....... i installed the game FEAR too but i am clueless on as to what would be interfering with it.

Have you tried uninstalling FEAR? Have you upgraded anything? The reason I'm asking is that, based on your description--and assuming you have completely uninstalled Messenger before reinstalling it--something on your computer has changed. Messenger was working. Something got changed. And now Messenger doesn't work, even after reinstalling it.

 

As an afterthought, do you have a System Restore point saved prior to the time Messenger started screwing up? You might want to try loading the restore point and see if it makes a difference.

ahhh poop. well what if it is FEAR? and i install it agian after i get messenger working and it does it agian... will i have to make a sacrifice?

 

i will try reinstalling FEAR when i figure out how to back up my single player files :joystick:

 

 

 

(BTW FEAR does its job of scaring the sh** outa me :lol:)
