Or maybe not so worthless...

The "pit trainer" made by a third party for Falcon4:AF was really helpful for learning a complex cockpit quickly. The Ka-50 pit is arguably far more complex, particularly for those of us who don't read Russian. For what it's worth, my request is that the fine folks at ED consider packing a simple "pit trainer" along with the other goodies in the BS add-on. It wouldn't need to be very comprehensive--no moving switches, no ABRIS, targeting, or HUD functions--just a short explanation for each functioning switch or button touched by the mouse cursor. Furthermore, this "pit trainer" (like the F4:AF version) should be independent of the Lock-on program so that it can be quickly accessed and used along with the manual.

Start-up and Shut-down "flows" would be helpful as well. Thanks for listening.

I imagine someone like Ironhand might be well underway on making something like that. :)

I think this is a very good idea. It is something that I really liked in F4. But I'm not quiet sure whether ED are working on something like that, hasn't been a signle word about such thing. More realistic is to expect detailed tracks with voiceover or labels.

That is a *good* idea.

Don't know if that's been suggested to ED before, but in the meantime have a look at the Ka50 startup video currently available and see if you can learn the routine a bit from that.

It's pretty representative of the current cockpit :)

PS - you noticed there are hints labels in the cockpit visible in that video to tell you what each switch does?

BGP...is it possible that ED put hover pointer guide layout in the cockpit, where if you put the mouse curser over the switch, the name appears over that switch?

The Falcon 4 rampstart trainer is one of the best, something similar to that using a similar sort of program would be cool. The ramp start trainer uses a different program to F4 and is quicker to load and practice with. After a weeks practice you no longer need any checklists as you already know the routine.

I agree, this is really a very useful feature. We definitely need it in LO, at least for the Ka-50.

Didn't (doesn't) the F4 pit trainer use Flash? Was something like that anyway.
