jozeff Posted August 29, 2017 Posted August 29, 2017 Have been in doubt for a week about the ka50, gazelle or mi8 to buy. I have the huey and it is awesome in vr but it is a bit hard to control without all the modern assistents. I understand that the ka50 has a lot of missions and looks great in vr also but is a bit overwhelming systemwhise. The gazelle is also interesting and looks good in vr but I am a bit worried about its handling and my trouble with the hueys handling holds me of a bit. So, i was thinking what about the mi8. Would the large cockpit be good in vr. I hear it is a lot more stable due to its weight and systems so it miht be an option also. Question is however. Are buttons easily readable in vr? Thanks for your input!
_schepper_ Posted August 29, 2017 Posted August 29, 2017 Hehe in my opinion 1) ka50: easy to handel lot to learn 2) gazelle: small and harder to handel than huey same to learn as huey 3) mi8: lot to learn same handel as heuy 4) huey: the reference :) Vr) expieriece is the same in every heli Verstuurd vanaf mijn SM-J510FN met Tapatalk
DBO Posted August 30, 2017 Posted August 30, 2017 The buttons are difficult to read. In something like the mi8 you will be lost without some cheats or a good memory unless you fly a lot ... and can read Cryllic :) A lifesaver for flying all of those birds with a headset has been the inclusion of the tutorial button pointers in VR. I bought the mi8 and the Gazelle after getting comfortable in the Huey and haven't regretted either purchase. The mi8 is a loungeroom in the sky after flying the Huey - you'll love it I'm sure. i7-6900K, 32GB G.Skill Trident Z 3200, G1 GTX 1080, Samsung 950 PRO 512GB, SAMSUNG 850 EVO 2TB, Corsair H115i, Saitek X55, MFG Crosswind pedals, X34 Predator, & a Vive
javelina1 Posted August 30, 2017 Posted August 30, 2017 Grab Devrim's English cockpit mod, well worth it. You'll love the MI-8. I fly it a lot in VR, she's an awesome bird. She's stable, but may not be as nimble as the smaller ones, but that's to be expected. FastForward Posted August 30, 2017 Posted August 30, 2017 The cockpit in english is in the MI-8 options for a while now :music_whistling: Buy it, you won't regret, she's a nice girl to fly, you learnt what you have to know with the Huey. I have the Huey, the MI-8 and the Gazelle, the Gazelle is my least favorite, and I spend hours in the Huey and the MI-8, just flying around
