tekrc Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 when I load 100% fuel, it loads to roughly 9.5 on the gauge. but the gauge goes all the way up to 12? to my knowledge there are no external tanks available so why is there so much extra room on the gauge?
Belphe Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 That's a very good question. I'm interested in the answer as well. Never say never, Baby! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Knock-Knock Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 Maybe it just shares that gauge with the SU-34, which has 12 tonnes capacity? - Jack of many DCS modules, master of none. - Personal wishlist: F-15A, F-4S Phantom II, JAS 39A Gripen, SAAB 35 Draken, F-104 Starfighter, Panavia Tornado IDS. | Windows 11 | i5-12400 | 64Gb DDR4 | RTX 3080 | 2x M.2 | 27" 1440p | Rift CV1 | Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS | MFG Crosswind pedals |

tekrc Posted October 5, 2017 Author Posted October 5, 2017 Maybe it just shares that gauge with the SU-34, which has 12 tonnes capacity? thats a fair guess. one less gauge to make. still feels a bit odd. the gauge on the 27 goes up to 9. honestly Id just use that and let the other .5 not be on the tape but someone had another idea it seems. honestly I didnt even notice untoil I tried refueling, got transfer complete, and was only at 9.5 instead of 12.
1stBEAST Posted October 6, 2017 Posted October 6, 2017 i think it has something to do with planned but never installed external fueltanks or maybe the buddy refuelingpod.
Alfa Posted October 6, 2017 Posted October 6, 2017 i think it has something to do with planned but never installed external fueltanks .. Either that or the gauge for some reason shows(or can show) the fuel quantity in liters instead of kilograms - note the absence of the "x 1000 кг" caption that is usually printed on the bottom part of the gauge(see attached image). The total internal fuel capacity of the Su-33 is around 12100 liters or ~ 9500 kg. The second fuel gauge(mounted on top of the IPV) has a full range scale of 10000 kg, which if you apply the relation between liters/kilograms, corresponds almost exactly to ~ 12500 liters...which appears to be the full scale of the other fuel gauge(value on top drum indicator). But I don't know what the deal is - just a possible explanation :) JJ
