Yep. They were pretty much never used.

There is a hugely effective sppeed brake: it‘s the delta wing. Just pull some g‘s when approaching the landing site. One or two turns will bleed away airspeed like nothing else.:)

Boards out with engine RPM at around 70-75% works decently.
