Admin problems in Windows 10

Hi,

 

I just installed Windows 10 on my new PC and all my games are in the program files folder. I'm having trouble editing or replacing files though, as I don't seem to have permission. Is there any way around this? I don't want to reinstall anything though.

go into settings and accounts, find your account it should say administrator under it.

 

If it does and you still have issues it could be your UAC setting is to high

I am an admin, and the UAC slider is all the way down. I tried to take ownersip of the program files folder, but it wouldn't let me :(

 

This is the message I get when I check "full control" or try to give ownership:

That's exactly what doesn't work. I change the owner, hit apply and I get this message :(

Some games (or Windows) have a problem with being installed in the "program files" folder. Please make a new folder (e.g., c:/Games) and put your DCS files into it. Then it should work.

You can try to move it, thing is, if your problem persists it wont let you do exactly stuff like that.

 

I would NOT install Games in any of the C:\ProgramFiles((x86))\ folders but do it as mentioned above: C:\GAMES D:\GAMES etc...

 

You might wanna have a look at "unlocker" a very handy tool sometimes

program files is protected under windows

 

Find your shortcut to windows Explorer, right click on it and run as admin

 

Try changing stuff now

 

Oh and Avast will damn sure not let you mess with it, for it knows you are a virus

Ok, I moved my games to a different folder and it works alright. Thanks!
