Flow Posted October 19, 2017 Posted October 19, 2017 It seems there is a bug in the training mission #1 for the SU-27. You cannot turn on the taxiway if you do not activate nose wheel steering. This is not said in the instructions. Activating nose wheel steering : LALT + q Happy flying :) i7 7700k • 1080Ti • 32GB @ 3200 MHz • 525GB M.2 • Oculus Rift Warthog + Pro Flight

Flow Posted October 20, 2017 Author Posted October 20, 2017 (edited) Guess they didn't update the tutorial after adding new functionality. Yes, I went through all the training missions and there is some not up-to-date stuff :) Still helpful but requires to look up some stuff on the internet. Quick question : what is the HDD tactical display ? (in nav mode). The tutorial states to press RCtrl + R if I remember correctly to switch to tactical display, but it does nothing. I searched for that term in the commands, but nothing comes up. All I can do is switch between nav modes by pressing 1. That would be the only thing I could not solve. At least the Su-27 has interactive training missions, unlike other aircrafts from the FC3 package. PS : The Su-27 is quite the workout to fly, needs constant trimming at the slightest speed change, and always wants to change direction. I guess this mimics the real plane's instable design well. The HDD is your tactical display when you switch toA2A giving you a view of the sky around you but there are no special keys to press to get it to do that. And it will automatically datalink with friendly AI radars to further increase your situational awareness. The only other thing I can think of is switching the HDD to HUD Repeater Mode where it simply displays what's on the HUD. You have to assign your own key command for that one, since there is no default command for it. I believe the "Tactical display" is simply the navigation route display on the HDD, as referenced to in training mission #2. Here is what I am talking about : It is @ ~6:30 of this video which is training mission #2 (navigation) for the Su-27 : I think the wording was a little different in the training mission on my computer, which confused me. Thank you for your input :) Getting to know the Su-27 a little more everyday before moving on to fully clickable cockpits next. "Tactical display" is whatever it's doing, I guess, when not in HUD repeater mode. The sim's manual refers to it as the "tactical display" only in BVR. JellybeanTiger Posted October 26, 2017 Posted October 26, 2017 Throttle bug with the su 27 and trim control of the su 25t in the start up training missions of both these AC. Tried for hours to get them working. Might just try a normal mission and see if the throttle works for the su 27.

Is yours working as it should in other missions ? The only problem I encountered is the nose wheel steering. It is not specified in the start up mission as it was added lately. If you cannot steer when leaving the parking position, then you need to activate it. i7 7700k • 1080Ti • 32GB @ 3200 MHz • 525GB M.2 • Oculus Rift Warthog + Pro Flight

Also ,when I click the normal mission tab,the sim hangs forever until I have to close it down with Task Manager, the sim is installed on a superfast m.2 ssd stick drive. I have deleted conflicts in the control axis,I have unticked ffb which is supposed to fix axis problems,I have used the powershell cmd in windows 10 to clean and repair my install. The same problems remain, now ringing up for an appointment to the funny farm. Edited October 26, 2017 by JellybeanTiger
Flow Posted October 26, 2017 Author Posted October 26, 2017 I read somewhere that you could remove the control.lua file so DCS generates a new one. That might solve your issue. As for trim, did you configure it in the aircraft specific controls ? Because I believe this setting is aircraft dependent and not general. Maybe the same goes for the throttle ? i7 7700k • 1080Ti • 32GB @ 3200 MHz • 525GB M.2 • Oculus Rift Warthog + Pro Flight

I used the su27 specific commands and assigned the engine throttle that way. Obviously bugs in the sim since it has been updated to 1.5.7 and the training part of the sim has been neglected which is silly imho. The same scenario as Flanker 2.5. Makes me not want to buy any other modules now ,knowing half the sim does not work properly. and it takes free mods from users to fix up the mess.
MadDog-IC Posted October 26, 2017 Posted October 26, 2017 (edited) The throttle works in the su 25t but the trim pov hat doesn't and in the su 27 the throttle does not work at all, these are in the startup training missions of these ac. Whilst not related to your issue. The hotas issues I just found I have since last update: Can't use any aircraft controls through my hotas that require a RIGHT control, Alt or Shift modifier key like Rcntrl-Home to start the Su-27 motor or the trim hat, but if I issue the same key combinations from the keyboard they work fine. Explanation: (With the X-52 pro, I have all key commands programmed through the SST software to issue actual keyboard commands to DCS, and do not directly mapping any joystick buttons to a DCS function). Game no longer knows the different between a Left Alt, Shift, Control and a Right Alt, Shift, Control modifier key command. Trying to nut this one out, as the only thing that has changed on my system is the DSCW patch revision. Now Fixed - Installed the latest driver from logitech for the X52-Pro Hotas. Also ,when I click the normal mission tab,the sim hangs forever until I have to close it down with Task Manager, the sim is installed on a superfast m.2 ssd stick drive. Know problems for a while, fix is to delete: c:\Users\YourUserName\Saved Games\Dcs\MissionEditor\Settings.lua I have deleted conflicts in the control axis,I have unticked ffb which is supposed to fix axis problems,I have used the powershell cmd in windows 10 to clean and repair my install. The same problems remain, now ringing up for an appointment to the funny farm. Time to do as I suggested in other post about renaming the aircraft directories that are affected with issues and let DCS rebuild them from scratch defaults, then input your changes, such as axis, etc. Hang in there it has been a rough ride for all of us, I understand how you feel, been there done that. JellybeanTiger Posted October 26, 2017 Posted October 26, 2017 (edited) I installed the user files by MadDog_IC,(hey that's you!) which fix the problems with the training startup mission ,unfortunately, the throttle still does not move when I move my throttle control on my hotas and the weird thing is,the Page UP and Page DOWN keys do not work either. Really strange. In normal missions, the su 27 throttle does work so must be a bug with 1.5.7. I've already deleted my entire user folder and went over every ac I own with a fine tooth comb assigning controls and deleting every axis or button conflict in my CH hotas. I noticed at first when I started up DCS World and went to the FC3 section, there were no missions listed in training and then I saw a button to install the module. Maybe I should have installed the module outside of the sim. Could that be the problem? Edited October 26, 2017 by JellybeanTiger

JellybeanTiger Posted October 26, 2017 Posted October 26, 2017 Just tried a normal mission and the throttle aint working. What am I doing wrong?
Tone71 Posted October 26, 2017 Posted October 26, 2017 I just replied in one of the other threads: Just installed the training and tested and it works fine. Your throttle won't move in-game until the engines have started, and the engines won't start unless your joystick is reading as fully idle; try moving your throttle to full then back to idle first, or decrease the throttle saturation a little in axis settings.
