missing somthing

I must be missing somthing here. I am having a hard time figuring out how to padlock enemys. The PDF says its the Del key on the num pad but that dose not seem to work. I am also having a hard time getting taget locks with the easy radar on. It seems t owork only sometimes. I am not sure if this is a bug or not. I am also having a hard time flying the rusian planes. I can not figure out how to get the weapon systems to work. I have been using the 5,6,7 keys to switch between air ground mode and the D key to switch between different missle types but they do not seem to work for the russian planes. I am new to this game so please bear with me. I know you print a manual but its like 250 pages or so. I wish the game came with better documentation. I printed the key cards that tell you what the commands are for the keyboard but they do not tell you much about how to aquire a lock or what weapons are for what situation. Thanks:joystick:

 

 

PS: I am interested in flaming cliffs but it seems you can only buy it from outside the USA and its a download only? My browser IE7 gives me Certifiacte warning when I try to folow the links. I already bought Lock on and do not want ot buy the Glod eddition just ot get flmaing cliffs since it would be like buying the same game twice. Can some one provide me with a link to buy Flaming Cliffs on a CD for the USA? Thanks again.

Well I think (as I never use it) padlock only works till certain distance. Again, I never used it so I don't really know :/

OMG! I should of checked Amazon. I bought two copies of Lock on from Ubi-soft one for me and one for my son for $19.99 each and I find it on amazon for $1.72 !! and they have the Gold edition for $18.88 ! AGH! I am kicking my self!:cry: I want flaming cliffs and I cant see paying another $18.88 for the same game twice just to get the add on. oh well live and learn :doh:

Any particular plane you're flying?

 

For the Padlock you need to be in the proper A2A and A2G modes

Hitting 7 switches you to Air-to-Ground Mode and NumDelete(.) will ground-fix your padlock

 

Hitting 2-6 switches you to Air-to-Air Modes but you have to be in visual.

Yea like the others said, they pretty much covered the padlock issue.

 

My suggestion: turn off easy radar because it does more harm than good. There's quite a few bugs with it so mind as well turn it off and learn it the right way rather than learn the "easy" way and later learn it again the real way.

 

I guess when you mean you are having a hard time flying russian planes its because its pitching up or down too much? That's because you need to learn how to trim the aircraft. Use the ctrl+;,./ to trip up, down, left right. Keep in mind, these russian birds don't have a computer to fly them like western planes. If you haven't notice, the F-15 doesn't require that much trimming because it has auto-trim.

 

You could buy FC alone by ordering the cd version. You can go to naturalpoint.com to get the FC cd, you mind as well pick up a trackir (highly recommended even though its a little expensive).

 

Also, watch the training videos and get up to speed with the game. Although you should still read the manual, going over the training videos will speed up the process. You still have those links i gave u in the last thread right? Like the training videos and flankertraining.com.

Thanks for the help. I am still in the learning phase of this game. I got the pad lock to work and the trim advice help alot on the russian planes. I even landed on a Aircraft carrier! Anyone know how to take a screen shot? I ordered Flaming Cliffs from Amazon because Natural point said it was out of stock. I still have not made the jump to the Tracker its a little pricey.

Hit Print Screen to take a screenie - will be saved in your LockOn/Screenshots Folder. In order to increase the quality of your shots, can navigate to your LockOn /Config/Graphics.CFG File and change the default screenshot capture value from 90% to 100%. Value change as before applies to Flaming Cliffs and might be different with 1.02.
