It is maintained in the air by a variety of forces in opposition to each other, and if there is any disturbance in this delicate balance the helicopter stops flying; immediately and disastrously. Our thoughts are with the people worldwide who are away from their families keeping us safe or fighting for our freedom and won’t be spending Christmas with their loved ones. Looking back Christmas and the end of the year is often a time of reflection and looking back on what has happened in the past year. For Polychop Simulations, ever since the second half of 2020 a lot has changed when it comes to productivity in the coding department slowing down considerably for a good while. The reason for this has been a serious medical condition affecting one of our team members. With Polychop Simulations being a very small team (2 people work on the OH-58D), this has had a severe effect on the production cycle of the OH-58D Kiowa Warrior module for DCS World. While production never stopped on the art and assets department, the coding side of things has only started to catch up during the past six months and has not yet reached the momentum it had prior to to the last half of 2020. This has to do with a lengthy recovery process. That said, development of the OH-58D Kiowa Warrior module is making great progress with the affected team member working as hard as his current situation allows him to. During the past year we’ve decided to dial down the amount of footage, screenshots, streams and general communication to essentially stop the hype train that was befitting our initial release schedule but not the uncertain situation we found ourselves in at some point. Another reason for this has been to minimize the amount of comments that were, although understandable to some degree, hurtful towards the development team as we could not disclose the reasons behind the delay out of courtesy to the affected member and his family. We will resume updating the community with progress reports when we think the time is right for it, which is hopefully very soon. Not all bad news though, 2021 has brought us a brand new coder who has been working on improvements the DCS SA-342 Gazelle module direly needs, essentially making sure the Gazelle’s systems are functioning as they should and fixing bugs so that when the time comes for implementing the new flight model, the Gazelle will be up to the expected standards. The future Coding for the OH-58D Kiowa Warrior has resumed and we’re still working hard to perfect the flight model in cooperation with our very dedicated SME’s. Not only to have all values match the documentation but also to capture the actual feeling of flying the Kiowa Warrior as close as we can. In the meantime, a number of new features have been added due to popular request. These features are currently in a testing phase and are expected to but not guaranteed to make it in to the release. They include the option to add and remove the doors, Mast Mounted Sight and the Rapid Deployment Gear essentially completing the package that is the OH-58D in its most common variants. Besides the gradual updates on many of its systems the Gazelle will also receive a number of cosmetic upgrades such as the ability to remove the doors on the SA-342L and adding the iconic dipole antennas used by the UK armed forces. We’re also looking in to an AI gunner for the minigun version of the Gazelle. An option to remove the hardpoints on the Gazelle is already in testing. As has been said before, the flight model overhaul for the Gazelle will come after the release of the Kiowa Warrior module and sadly suffers from its delay. All in all, we hope and expect 2022 to be a much more productive year with the release of the Kiowa and the long awaited updates to the Gazelle. Kiowa release date Now the million dollar question; when will the Kiowa be released? Simply put, when it’s done. The Kiowa will be released as system complete, no early access. All systems needed for completing its intended tasks and mission will be functioning as they should. Some quality of life updates and non-essential features might be added later on after release. Things the community has requested certainly spark our interest but should not delay the release date. With the recent past showing us that many factors can influence the development cycle, we won’t be predicting any release windows any more. Come sapete sono un grande estimatore dei mezzi ad ala rotante e considero molto questo elicottero, ho passato mesi a chiedermi perché tra ottobre e novembre 2020 fossero usciti video di intere ore in cui mostravano molte caratteristiche e funzionalità implementate dicendo che sarebbe uscito per fine anno.... poi un comunicato verso la fine di dicembre (da me accolto comunque favorevolmente) in cui si scusavano di non uscire entro l’anno perché volevano essere certi della bontà del loro lavoro (un po’ come è successo per l’Apache) ma poi più nulla....un ritardo di un anno, ora comprensibile, ma che senza nessuna ulteriore comunicazione mi ha lasciato decisamente interdetto... A questo punto aspettiamo il 2022 come veramente l’anno degli elicotteri... con l’affinamento dell’Hind, l’uscita completa del Kiowa è quella in sviluppo dell’Apache.... Senza dimenticare che uscirà anche il nostro amato 339 è molto probabilmente anche il Mirage F1 che mi ha impressionato molto durante la live dello scorso novembre. Posted December 10, 2021 Share Posted December 10, 2021 @fabio.dangelo Si infatti, sarebbe bastato un semplice comunicato per spiegare la situazione, anche e soprattutto commercialmente parlando sarebbe stato sicuramente molto apprezzato da coloro che seguono e aspettano questa macchina piuttosto che "sparire" lasciando i clienti/potenziali clienti a brancolare nel buio con pensieri non proprio positivi data la fama che li precede con la storia del Gazelle.. Per il resto dicendo che "uscirà quando sarà pronto" dicono tutto e niente, anche che per esempio non esca affatto nel 2022, insomma mi pare una comunicazione piuttosto nebulosa e certamente non troppo rassicurante per coloro che lo aspettano mentre a mio modo di vedere dovevano lanciare ben altri segnali per riacquisire quella credibilità persa da tempo, mah.... Per il 2022 vedremo con ottime probabilità il nostro amato 339 con un modulo che secondo me sarà qualitativamente eccelso, non so per l' F1 a che livello di sviluppo siano non avendolo seguito più di quel tanto, e ovviamente il pezzo forte rappresentato dall' Apache più tutti i vari upgrade dei moduli attualmente presenti, per quanto mi riguarda mi auguro che esca anche il Ka-50 III a cui sono molto più interessato che non all' indiano..... Barundus will also speak voice commands for AI and in campaigns. We strongly believe this will benefit the virtual flying experience. Barundus has over 5300 flight hours and was an instructor pilot in the Bell OH58D Kiowa Warrior. He has been deployed to numerous combat tours and this will also contribute to AI behaviour. We have made the decision to present the whole timeline of the aircraft from 1984 till 2017 with some exceptions to avionics. Il sito http://www.polychop-sims.com è aggiornato al 2015!!!! D U E M I L A Q U I N D I C I ! ! ! ! ! non dico altro. Nella loro sezione ufficiale del forum sono spariti da tempo.... ma in compenso hanno un canale Discord... ormai abbandonato a se stesso. Ho letto che addirittura si vocifera che tutto il materiale (tutti gli asset, codice modelli 3D texture....) era su UN solo computer e questo sia andato distrutto perdendo irrimediabilmente il lavoro fatto.... Spero tanto non sia vero perché mostrerebbe ancor di più quanto questa terza parte sia gestita in maniera estremamente dilettantistica. Credo che la clausola di subentro di ED in caso di abbandono valga solo per i moduli rilasciati.... Something you might have heard from other 3rd parties as well. These guidelines need to be clarified to be sure what can and can not be posted now and in the future." Anche chi ti ha raccontato che il canale discord è abbandonato a sè... boh, rispondono quasi quotidianamente. Ecco, non postavano una cippa sul Kiowa da un po' questo sì, ma non è che non esistano XD. Resta che per tutte le terze parti "piccole", quando succedono robe come quelle capitate a loro, sono molto più soggette a ritardi epocali rispetto a strutture più organizzate perchè se manca "A" a fare il suo lavoro, è più facile rimpiazzarlo in business già avviato. Se il progetto dovesse implodere (cosa che spero non avvenga perchè persevero nel "sogno di non avere un altro elicottero RC da loro) mi pare cmq che la ED abbia implementato alcune misure di "sicurezza" dopo gli eventi di VEAO. Per carità capisco che sono in due e se hanno un problema questo oggettivamente si ripercuote pesantemente. Ma questa non è comunque una giustificazione in senso stretto, una terza parte è una terza parte, i moduli li paghi come li pago a Razbam o Heatblur, ma queste aziende offrono una garanzia decisamente diversa. Quello che vorrei capire è il reale significato di “piantare una bandierina segnaposto”. La terza parte dice che fa un particolare aereo, bene ED gli da esclusiva su quell’apparecchio. Ma hanno dei vincoli temporali?!? Dico che faccio L’aereo X se dopo 10 anni ancora sto in alto mare non è il caso che quell’aereo la faccia qualcun’altro?? Io non credo che questo modo di operare sia vantaggioso per noi consumatori… Quindi tornando a Polychop non publicano a niente perché mancano PIU’ DI SEI mesi all’ipotesi o rilascio!?!? Come detto, capisco che questa storia di essere esclusivisti su un determinato modulo garantisca la TP e quindi da un lato la incentivi a sviluppare. Ma dall’altro non avere vincoli temporali di concorrenza può generare una certa rilassatezza nell’affrontare lo sviluppo del modulo. Credo che il caso del Kiowa sia emblematico di questo. Si tengano pure il kiowa, peraltro se dovesse uscire della stessa "qualità" con cui hanno fatto il gazelle, non sono certo qui a fremere dall'impazienza. fabio.dangelo Posted October 18, 2022 Share Posted October 18, 2022 (edited) Sono contento di leggere notizie relative al fatto che i problemi di salute siano passati e lo sono anche ovviamente sul fatto che gli sviluppi stiano procedendo, ma su questo visto il passato nutro solo un cauto ottimismo. relativamente all’esclusività lo hanno detto loro stessi che hanno fatto una valanga di annunci con estremo anticipo per evitare un inutile spreco di risorse, questo lo intendo come se una terza parte cominciasse a lavorare su un modulo non sapendo che ED ha già siglato un accordo con un’altra TP.
