Modding for DCS World. How hard can it be?

Firstly, I should explain what prompted this post.

I have been reading posts concerning interest in starting to mod for DCS, and also remarks of, let us say, a disparaging

nature to modders who may,

1)Not deliver a mentioned or started mod

2)Never deliver the same

3)The mod is disliked for whatever reason

This has caused talented modders to leave the community and cease creating these wonderful additions.

This is a shame.

So where is this leading?

I am suffering with the flu, and you can only sleep so many hours!

Instead of watching TV, I create.

Today, I created the HMS Prince of Wales Carrier.

I started with a pre-built free Sketch-up model converted to 3ds and imported into Max 2016.

So you would think most of the work was done.

Au contraire my friends!

I have spent, (I kept track), ten hours working on this mod to get it to it's current unfinished state!

Including texturing, creating and importing parts and aircraft and multiple edits to find the correct combination of textures that would look good together.

And I still need to create the collision file to allow spawning.

No animation was done!

Then there is the lua code that must be created.

It is a BOAT LOAD of work! LOL

And this is just a ship.

Aircraft are WAY more complicated!

So to all the Modders who receive the above mentioned remarks I say,

Tune them out.

I create for myself and share because I like to do it and was asked by friends to do so.

They enjoy them.

To the potential modders, understand what you are getting into..........

To the animadversion comment givers, I for one, can not hear you.

Thank you for your attention.

This is the result of all this work,

"Yeah, and though I work in the valley of Death, I will fear no Evil. For where there is one, there is always three. I preparest my aircraft to receive the Iron that will be delivered in the presence of my enemies. Thy ALCM and JDAM they comfort me. Power was given unto the aircrew to make peace upon the world by way of the sword. And when the call went out, Behold the "Sword of Stealth". And his name was Death. And Hell followed him. For the day of wrath has come and no mercy shall be given."

Looking nice.

My Hermes R12 is coming along nice, but I get the plans and scratch build.

I don't normally release any WIP shots but I might...

You should add some traps so when the hornet is out.........

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

I see this (BGDAM) uses java.

Could you explain its use please?

Perhaps a brief tutorial?
