Rikus Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 I hope they upgrade also the mission editor. An idea for the weather, very cool i think, itґs to let add an starting hour for an specific weather. Like vehicles, if the mission start at, for example 17.00, you can put a vehicle but appear at 17.40 So itґs cool to start a mission at 15.00 with sun, but at 16.00 lots of clouds and a storm.

There will be a new Mission Editor for Black Shark - that's not a secret :) Changing weather in missions . . . . would be cool, certainly. Don't know about that one, but don't hold your breath for it. There's a long wish list for features of the new mission editor, think only time will tell how many of them are included. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v121/britgliderpilot/BS2Britgliderpilot-1.jpg
Aeroscout Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 That would be cool. there are alot of bugs right now, so if those couls be sortrd out that would be awesome. DCS Wishlist: 1) FIX THE DAMN RIVERS!!! 2) Spherical or cylindrical panorama view projection. 3) Enhanced input options (action upon button release, etc). 4) Aircraft flight parameter dump upon exit (stick posn, attitude, rates, accel, control volume, control-surface positions, SAS bias, etc). 5) ADS-33 maneuver courses as static objects. 6) Exposed API or exports of trim position and stick force for custom controllers. 7) Select auto multiple audio devices
ZoomBoy27 Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 If the Editor is changed for BS, My concern would be that it was compatible with the older missions. I don't mean the SAM ranges or AI but simply they'd be able to load. We'll see. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
MBot Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 Starting from zero with BS is a small price for the new options a new editor will provide. Quite honestly there isn't that much to loose anyway, Lock On has never had a big campaign/mission building tradition as a Sub Command or Operation Flashpoint. Just look at the mission subforum here. By looking at that, one could think Lock On is death... It leads me to wonder what all these people flying Lock On ( offline ) actualy do. Don't get me wrong, I don't have any bad feelings about missing interest in my own missions, I do them first and foremost for my own enjoyment. It's just accepting the fact that Lock On is primary a quick battle, aerobatics and sightseeing simulator. I hope the new editor will lead to a level of community missions compareable of a Operation Flashpoint, both in quality and quantity, in offer and demand.

Thats a good Idea, but from my point of view i would be very glad if they could add a "skybox color" option in the mission editor like this: http://forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?t=21379 I think it could be done without great effort. Colt40Five Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 I wish they would add a category of SEAD escort to the ME. Something like escort for A-A, where if the AI detect ADS radar within a certain range they go get 'em. Would make for more fluid mission design rather than having to specify exactly which targets the SEAD flight should attack. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
ZoomBoy27 Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 Well, consider that they wouldn't have worked anyway - just like 1.02 missions barely work or don't work in BS. But we it might be possible to write a conversion tool. We'll see. Actually I found that the A-10 A2G missions ported over quite well with some tweaking(adding a bit more air cover, adjusting times). On the A2A stuff I would fully agree. Colt40Five Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 Something else that would be a wet dream is ADS that acts like it wants to live...waiting till the last minute to turn on their radars...only running them long enough to try to get a shot....shutting down to try and avoid an ARM shot...etc... Setting the task of an F-16 (or any other type of fighter) flight to escort but giving them a couple HARMs to lob around gives them a pretty good A/G capability against most SAMs.

Colt40Five Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 Is there a trick to it? I can't get it to work. Flight of 4 'excellent' F-16Cs with HARMs set to 'escort'. Set up a Hawk, and then at the edge of the hawk's detection range I set up 2 Roland ADSs along the F-16s flight path. they just fly in get shot at and then go home...they never engage. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Rikus Posted February 18, 2007 Author Posted February 18, 2007 Another think very important, is the failures. I hope to be able to put for example 20-40% to hud and mdf failure, for an specific plane, and not for all the planes as actually happens. Specific failures for each plane.

What are they engaging with? Isnt there a little detail in the ME that lets you pic the weapons they use to start off with attack-wise?
BBQ Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 Just to add my two cents: I totally lean on the community to provide great missions/campaigns--so I hope they put some effort into being able to port these into BS--I know how long it takes to make missions, let alone campaigns--it would be a shame to have to toss those aside. On the other hand--It'll take me a year to learn to fly the Hokum--I'll be busy trying not to smash my rotors into mountain sides and such :pilotfly:
