this past week, i have been flying DCS after haitus after haitus.

about 10 years ago, i was so excited to setup 3 monitors via SoftTH.

but the experience was ok...but cool.

didnt fly much as because the multiplayer was spotty, and i wasnt good enough for F15 or Su27.. always getting killed trying to ground pound.

then came my sim pit which i made cyclics and collective to try to fly helos..

it was good.. felt in control of basic helo functions, but i had to wiggle my way thru dcs level buttons and switches that wasnt able to use well..

i hate trackIR.. many of times i tried to get used to it, it gave me a headache.

playing in front of a monitor i would get sleepy due to no one talking on the servers..

and i have no idea where targets are and get blown up.

finally VR came, and flight sim desires were re-sparked. with my hotas chair, button boxes, i was in control of FC3 level planes in VR. interest again slowly died because VR was just not that great on 1.5 compared to 2.. but most ppl online were on DCS 1.5.

come feb 2018. i have touch controllers to allow me to maniplate controls in the virtual cockpits. i am in control!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and i am able to join other people on caucausus on 2.5!!!

the past few days i have been enjoying the training missions and flying with nice folks from the 59th Raven's server & teamspeak.

I look forward to more VR improvements (give us the right click)

FINALLY i can fly DCS and operate DCS level aircraft and enjoy being able to do start up sequences and all the fun stuff.

THANK YOU ED!!!!!!

Yes it is pretty amazing, really neat how they have implemented support for the Touch controllers in DCS 2.5.

I really look forward to what the future brings as well.

I absolutely cannot wait for the day I can use something with a small footprint on my finger/hand that mirrors the functionality of the current controllers, without having to physically be held in my hand like the Touch controllers. It's tough to make any sensible use of the Touch controllers currently when also using a stick and throttle...not to the fault of ED whatsoever, what they've done to implement this is a big/necessary step in the right direction.

I'm glad to see that they have implemented the use of touch also, there is a lot of potential there. Some easy fixes I would like to see would be nomex gloves instead of the WW2 bulky leather gloves, the ability to use a rotating motion to turn knobs and a few other things. When I play games like Robo Recall and a few others its almost like having your hands in the game. In its current state DCS is more of a mouse pointer.
