unfortunately it's by the same people who realeased BOB2 wings of victory, and judging by how bad a state that was released in and how bad in general that game is, eech2 is not in my top buy list, yes it looks spangly in the screenshots and the cgi clip but so did bob2 at the time and it turned out to be a lame horse that should have been taken to a shed and shot.

my two pennies on this

All i can say is that at least black shark is based on a helicoptor in and entering service and not one that was cancelled..........

Mmmmmmmm LONG BOW 2 Mmmmmmmmmmmm

I loved that game when you flew it MP......PILOT AND GUNNER 'nuf said......im now drooling!! :P

ThomasDweiss Ka-50 is a flight sim ? i hope but it's an H e l i c o !! Do you call a flight sim ? plane with no AFM and no weather, clouds corrected ?

Fly it like you stole it..

well, lockon will always be a jet sim, regardless of the Ka-50. it's hard to compair the current lockon to a heli sim. only a BS beta tester could give us an accurate comparison of the two.

DCS Wishlist: 1) FIX THE DAMN RIVERS!!! 2) Spherical or cylindrical panorama view projection. 3) Enhanced input options (action upon button release, etc). 4) Aircraft flight parameter dump upon exit (stick posn, attitude, rates, accel, control volume, control-surface positions, SAS bias, etc). 5) ADS-33 maneuver courses as static objects. 6) Exposed API or exports of trim position and stick force for custom controllers. 7) Select auto multiple audio devices

There's no combat heli sim out there right now that can match the Black Shark in Flight Model and Avionics and systems fidelity. There just isn't.

There are other heli sims out there that MAY have better features for the *environment* right now, because they are dedicated heli sims - by that I mean things like infantry, calling artillery, stuff like that. But all that is in the works for Lock On (or whatever Lock On will become in the future) eventually. Well, i shouldn't say 'all that'. There might be features that will never be implemented.

But, how does flying the 'Shark feel? If you got a feeling of speed, fear of hitting the ground, if you struggled with a heli in any heli sim before - you will find out FIRST HAND how heavily loaded the pilot is. Your tasking is MUCH higher that in a jet- even more so than in the 25/25T.

The instruments are much more complex.

Some have complained that the terrain ill be 'too flat' ... too hard to hide in. Bollocks.

No, the terrain ain't as smooth as OFP, or any other combat sim that gets to model a denser mesh because visibility is restricted to 5km. But you can DEFINITELY navigate it, hide in it ... you can hide in the plains of the crimea even. Yep!

There's little dips and ridges that you don't even see from your jet, but that can perfectly hide a chopper!

And, with the help of the ABRIS you could plan your attack in detail, if you only wish to spend the time laying the route down - no worrying about where you are and where you're going at all.

Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D

I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda

Ok, sounds awesome.

I'v never strugled with a heli that much and i'm prity prificient. That is untill landing. I cant land from the cockpit unless i have TIR AND windows by your feet to help with alinment with the helipad. Other than that, i'm looking forward to this sim.

BTW, how does Search And Rescue 4 compare to BS?

In any COMBAT sim.

Right. In terms of avionics realism, MSFS id prety true to real life. but they dont model weapons and thus is not an intrest to most of us here. but like GG said, "COMBAT sim"

The Su-25T AFM still has not been matched by any sim I know of - and the Ka-50 cockpit, systems, AFM and the implementation of true ballistics for the guns and WFM will be years ahead of anything being made now.

Too true, nothing can compare to BS it's a whole new standard in itself.

True, but does Lockon use true to life radio chatter and are you forced to exicute proper holding patterns and traffic patterns? In lockon, you also not able to customize the weather as mich as in MSFS. other than that, though, I agree, lockon does excell over most sims, if not all. BS should take the sim to a new level though. more realism, what with it's clickable cockpit and all.
