As a helicopter guy I love the new collide trees flying noe has more consequences now if you screw up. But one thing I have noticed is that a lot of the clearings are on steep slopes. Most helicopters can land only on an 8-15 degree slope. So I think it would be cool if we had a tool that could clear the trees in a given area so that we can make our own LZs. This would give mission creators greater flexibility and create new possibilities for the future.

Placing a FARP in a wooded area will clear the trees from that location. Worked in Normandy and now works in 2.5. :thumbup:

Now that we have some nice trees can we get rid of them?

 

Ok so I’m trying to test it out now and it doesn’t seem to be working for me I just spawn in the trees and blow up. Is there anything special you have to do?

 

Edit: so I have it working on Normandy but I can’t seem to place a tarp at all on Caucasus map

There is no magic trick just simple FARP Placement does the job. I am not saying all wooded areas act this way but the majority seem to in my experience. Normal FARP placement rules apply ie not on huge slopes or massively undulating ground locations. Start easy and find a large wooded area like North West of Senaki Kolkhi.

Just an FYI for anyone else I just found out you can use the trigger scenery remove objects zone to do the same without having to place a farp.
